Am I missing something?Am I missing something or has hollywood gone insane?? (not like it wasn't already but still). I'm mentioning this because I was thinking about watching Television right now until I realized that, most of the shows I used to watch and grew to love dissappeared. And then i started thinking way back to all the shows I loved but didn't last as long as I wanted them to and it's starting to seriously confuse the hell out of me. I understand that part of the reason the shows i liked are gone have something to do with ratings but jeezus, will there ever be a show that I like that lasts or will i have to resort to watching on demand forever... These are some shows I want back- 1. Dead Like Me (lasted two seasons and they made a straight to DVD movie about it being catapulted into the future, the characters way older and it was dissappointing :( ) 2. The Comeback (lasted one season and it was the funniest t.v show i've ever seen plus I love love LOVE lisa kudrow and it wouldve been really nice to see her as the main character in something, because she's super talented and super sexy...I guess i'll just have to watch "Web Therapy" to tide me over :( ) 3. Pepper Dennis (lasted one season and I thought Rebbeca Romijn was a powerhouse in it, ratings shmatings.. I don't care, she was awesome, it was awesome and the network it was on was awesome, thumbs down CW :( ) 4. Related (lasted one season and had really cute dialogue..ok okay the majority of the time i was oggling at the four ladies{Jennifer Esposito,Kiele Sanchez, Lizzy Caplan and Laura Breckenridge} that were sisters, but the other amount of time i was really paying attention to the sho) Ahhh i could go on but then I think i might start weeping :( Anyone else feeling my pain and had shows they really liked cancelled? !!!!!!!
It's just the way it is
I too find that shows I like mostly seem to be end after 2 or 3 seasons max. I don't tend to mind as much though since I'd rather a show end on a high then last longer and become a shadow of what it once was.
I think a good example of this would be Shameless, the first 2 series were brilliant but it's no longer the same show or even a decent show at all really. I wouldn't have liked that to happened to the likes of Dead Like Me (maybe the movie is like what the show would have ended up like 5 seasons in if it had become popular but the producer wanted to end it at 3).
Of course I don't think this is the case for every show, in an ideal world it would be the creators who decide how long it takes for their shows to run their course.
I just want the old
I miss...
