Cheryl Cole is cute, where is she from though? She's got the strangest accent.
I really liked Stacey, because the contrast between the beginning (her talking to Simon) and her singing was so great. She sounded like a giggling teenager when she was talking, and as soon as she started singing, she turned into a woman. And Simon's face was priceless, of course.
Danyl was good, and it's lovely to see someone so passionate about what he does, but I thought he was a little over the top, which I found annoying.
My favorite so far is Duane, because he's not only a pretty talented singer, he wants it so badly. Simon pressured him, and he didn't falter. When he stopped singing the second song, and Simon nodded and mouthed "it's ok" in Duane's direction, I about cried.
Other than that, some pretty horrible off-key singing... I had to turn down the volume on the PC a number of times. Those two Lithuanian girls, Sister Act, the snotty Irish twins, Triple Trouble.. How can these people seriously think they can sing?
No, I'm from Belgium. Although I can tell that she has a very distinctive accent, and that she's from somewhere in Great Britain, I wouldn't know a Newcastle accent if it hit me in the face with a hacky netty. ;)
Are you saying that the Geordie accent is bad? :O. I'm offended ;). No no just joking :P. Her accent is just normal to me but I guess thats because I live up North :)
Simon wanted to bring Cheryl over to the US at one point in time to be one of the judges on American Idol, the place that Ellen now holds, just to help her along in her career and break the US. However she can't because of her accent apparantly they wouldn't have been able to understand her, which i think is really patronising to the american population. She's been given lots of elocution lessons, to try and get rid of it, but she can't, even those its a lot less stronger than it was. You can take the girl out of Newcastle but not the Newcastle out of the girl.
I'm not denying that the woman is beautiful, she's stunning, and lets face it I wouldn't say no, I don't know any sane woman who would. Yet everyone's forgotten the little Chav that got into drunken fights, and smashed some girls head in. The Chav who now can't put a foot wrong. Although have you seen the video to her new single?
The song is not the best but is admittedly growing on me, but the video is laughable, part of me hopes that it's a piss take, though the rational part of me knows that its not :( Everything form the leopard print PJ's she wears at the beginning to the military uniform to the weird tiger top is just wrong wrong wrong. The weird dancing/choreography, the drag queen make-up... its just all bad, hate me for saying it but its true!
And I didn't like the way she took back Ashley Cole he's obviously a cheating bastard, I thought she was stronger than that... we'd all have you with open arms Cheryl, leave the man!
To be totally honest, who would even want to take the Newcastle out of the girl! Cheryl is amazing because she's a Geordie & just because she doesn't speak like an absolute toff doesn't mean people can't understand her. You don't even need to listen to her, just look. x
Cheryl Cole was extremely beautiful, as always. Lois was annoying. Dannii was pretty plastic. And Simon was NICE, or was it just me. I'm sure he was nice.
Really like Danyl. He looks a bit like Will young and really passionate :D.
Looking forward to laughing more and hearing more great new artists. It's gonna be a good series, I can tell
Hate the new format, the crowd spoils what should be a nice quiet moment. Also the squads of friends/family being allowed to watch the audition is annoying too. The editing was bad before but now it just give them more time to focus on the family/crowd who I don't give a shit about.
I liked Stacey but everyone else was boring to me. I can't believe they let Emma the Flump on the show again, have they no shame. You remember in the series final a few years about they paraded her about on the Roman litter and people were complaing about how exploitive it was because she was really young at the time. Well, now I don't feel sorry for her anymore. What a snooty little brat she and her sister are. The grandmother of the Blond twins who looked like uglier versions of xavier was H&A, was crazed. Really, ITV, really, I don't what to see that kind of stuff on tv. She should be ashamed of herself.
Cheryl was hot and she looked a bit fed up with all the crap that was wondering on the stage which made her strangely hotter.
I agree about the crowd situation, I don't like it! I liked it better when it was just the judges and the singers in one room.
And those sisters, OMG! Why did they let her in again just to make a fool of herself, I was embarrased for her and her sister! And Triple Trouble!! How awful were they and then they were threatening Simon! Jesus lol.
i liked stacy a lot! i know she's kinda duhh but it was cute lol and what a voice!!
i loved danyl's audition too, but i dont know let's see how he will develop through the show. Oh, and i agree with simon about those twins, soo annoying!
buuut the real reason i watch it: cheryl, cheryl and cheryl lol i'm so in love with her dimples and accent and her mouth hipnotizes me all the time . :p
Was just on youtube and saw Steve's audition..dunno whether it was staged or not but either way how embarrassing...It was very funny though and I did laugh, a lot!! And oh my god how beautiful is Cheryl?? =]
Cheryl is stunningly beautiful, i cant even believe how amazing she looks! I am a Geordie myself and live only a few streets from where she was brought up. Some claim to fame huh?!
Some of my friends went to the same high school as her and told me a rather amusing tale. Apparently, one day Cheryl came across her cousin being bullied in the school corridor. She grabbed hold of one of the bullies, shoved him up against the wall and shouts 'Give him back the f***ing pencil back! man!'. Needless to say, no one messed with Cheryl and her family much.
And those poor poor daughters of Steve! How mortifying would that be?! *Shudder!*
I haven't watched saturday nights episode of X-Factor yet because I've just got back from a holiday but everyone kept telling me to watch a video of Steve's audition and all I can say is OMG! How embarrasing! Poor guy. Twas quite funny though haha. Cheryls face when she saw 'it' was priceless :D
So who else thought it was a really boring episode on saturday? The only people I liked was the welsh girl (Lucy?) and Jade from London. But that french guy at the end was pretty hilarious!! XD
I hate the new look of XFACtor. Simon has truly gotten right up his own arse. I used to find him cool before but its like he created a live audience and a backing track to purposefuly embaras the contestants. the old way was far better- at least it gave the contestants the illusion that nobody except the judges were watching.
My theory is simon's put up his fee to £8million which is nothing compared with the £25million he gets for american idol, but coz we are tight arsed british they've been selling off tickets for the auditions and boot camp to cover the increase in fees. All the judges have asked for more not just simon, its just simon gets the most. Only a theory dont know if its true or not.
OMG I love xfactor more and more and more and I like nice simon! Love the way he spoke to the autistic man after they got rid of him and congratulated him.
What the hell is with the Irish twins Louis just loves pretty young irish boys, even if in the words of simon cowel they are annoying brats who would stamp on their mothers own neck if it meant they would get a number 1 hit.
I love the way for next week Louis been told he cant just take them to Ireland this year, I didnt realise he had another house! And I love it when Dani realises she needs to consult friends or they need someone to perform last minute she just rings old sister Kylie, I swear thats the only reason shes on the show, not that I mind looking at her at all!
Btw Louis is screwed with teh groups he has an issue working with girl bands and the only boy band he has is the annoying irish twins and the only great group is the one they put together with the really cool girl with the tatoos who raps, love her its a shame they didnt put her through on her own she was awesome! But maybe thats the lesbian in me coming out.
My money would have been on that group if Louis wasn't their mentor he didn't seem so keen on them, and he ruins girl bands. The man wouldn't know talent if it slapped him in the face, lets hope he pisses Graziella off enough and she will slap him, that would be TV worth seeing!
I'm so annoyed that that boy from last year that Dannii didn't put through still didn't get through this year!! And those stupid twins did!! I know Louie is definitely gonna put them through and it annoys me!!
I think Simon's got the strong category this year or maybe Dannii.
Also I thought it was so funny when that girl, I don't know who it was, fell over when all the girls found out they had Dannii! LOL!
That that Gemma girl the really hot and talented one who had tried out before, was offered a record contract in the states and she took it ditching the other girls. Without Gemma the other girls werent as good and didnt make it into the final 24, real shame. But what do you do take an actual job that you've been dreaming about and ditch your friends or gamble stick with your friends and may not get anywhere, its a toughy. And yes I have turned into an Xfactor geek.
I would have kicked those irish twins into touch on the 1st audition but typical louis, there irish, everyone hates them so i guarantee they'll make his final three. Cant stand louis....
Cheryl is hot and i hate to admit it but i do like the geordie accent..
Hopefully the right people will be put through and the finals should be good. i also agree the auditions should have been done in a studio not in front of a crowd, they ruined the auditions at times.
Now, I love Dannii and her sister, and there both quite obviously gay icons but WTF? I seriously don't no whether to laugh or cry at her comment. I think the cringe worthy silence was enough punishment for her to be fair...I mean I could practically see the tumbleweed going across the stage but still, does anyone else think it was a little innappropiate? I know his sexuality isn't exactly a secret but its completely irrelevant to the show and she should'nt have bought it up. I just went on the X factor website and there has been 100's of comments about this already. I bet it will be all over the news tomorrow...loved Danyl at the end though when he said 'I'm not ashamed'..what a nice man!
But on a lighter note, get those bloody twins out. And for the love of God Rachel stop falling over!
Yeah the Danii comment... i kinda understand where shes coming from, maybe saying it in a way like no need to be ashamed and in an ideal world it wouldnt make a difference about his sexuality, but unfortunately its not an ideal world and its a private matter that doesnt need to be brought up on stage with millions watching. I havn't been reading the papers on the matter, so dunno if hes out or what, but I mean he's a teacher, and I'm sure his children will be watching I dunno if he's out to them, if his work collegues know, etc, just kinda think its a private matter and it should have been his decision to come out publicly to the public. She didn't think of the consequences to the comment, I mean it took Will Young to finish pop idol before he was comfortable enough to come out publicly. Even afterwards, he still sings about women in his songs all the time.
Ideally its a singing contest leave the poor guys sexuality alone, if the only thing you can fault the guy on is that he sang "she" instead of "he" in the lyrics then i guess in a way thats a compliment.
On a lighter note, I love stacey think shes awesome, and i love Danyl and Lucy and Rachel and just found out that Joe was actually good oh and Miss Frank were great though I feel they have competition now from the other contenders. So I like most of them, but I thought Joe was really good he suprised me. And lets be honest if we're going to bring sexuality into it, its not like louis isnt gay and its not like the other boys don't fit into the gay stereotype.
So yeah stupid comment from Danii, the awkward silence after and I'm sure the slaughtering from the papers shes gonna get tomorrow will also be punishment enough.
I think the whole Dannii comment has been over blown she is clearly not homophobic she has been a gay icon for years and has whole heartly embraced it and i swear that she has previously stated that she is bi herself. her comment was silly in the fact that most lyrics are changed to fit the main stream, if anything i think she did it to try knock his confidence as he is a threat as a winner...
anyway please please please say there is no more john and edward after 2nite. also i was really diasppointed by rachel and the afro guy but i like how well miss frank are gelling as a band
She had a completely valid and open-minded point. She basically just said, "in today's world artists should be open about their sexualities; you shouldn't have to hide who you are".
Her mistake was in asking it as a hypothetical question which nobody is obviously going to answer; that just leaves silence (*crickets*)... The silence caused people who hadn't actually thought about the comment to immediately assume it was homophobic.
Simon Cowell was the one who ridiculed her actually by implying that she made a homophobic comment which was absolutely NOT the case.
Oh and this was DEFINATELY not a coming out since he came out to tabloids in August (google "Danyl bisexual" for hundreds of hits)
I tottally agree it's not something that in this society people should have to hide and it's been in the papers for a while...but if he's bisexual shouldn't he be able to change the word man to girl in a song? It could just be to make his music appeal to a wider demographic, I don't think it's hiding who he is or his sexuality. I sort of think why did danni have to point it out and make his sexuality into an issue and I think that's what Simon ment when he said not to play those games.
I thought first live show was really good. After last year with Diana, Laura, Alex etc I thought it would be a bad crop this year. But now I actually feel the standard is higher overall.
Really want Rachel and Miss Frank to do well, although think both could struggle - Rachel was first on this year so may get forgotten by voters and Miss Frank are gonna have to make sure Louis doesn't give them dud song choices cos like Cheryl said they are fresh.
The whole Danii backlash is a bit inevitable. It's why I hate Political correctness, it always seems to miss the point completely and actually highlight more ignorance. I thought suggesting that Danyl shouldn't have changed the pronouns in his song from man to girl was far from a homophobic remark as I have heard spouted on other boards, but was probably a sideways dig at Simon Cowell and his percieved "closeting" of acts to get the "middle ground safe vote". Of course I don't know if that's really what it was about, but if she was really telling Danyl to be out and proud - which I think judging by his comments in papers he already is - then it was a very clumsy way of doing it. And if it was just meant as a cheap shot at Simon, then it was wrong to put Danyl in the middle of it. But hardly the end of the world, "sack her now!" stuff.
Having said that, I'm not a fan of his. He has a good voice and is good-looking etc but the desperation is off-putting. If he can act like he just enjoys being there, and sing for the joy of singing and not all "there's so much pressure on me now" crap then I might warm to him more.
And Jamie's whole rocker thing may get old. I really like his voice and him, but he should have a band or a guitar or something. Doing t-rex covers that sound a bit like t-rex is not going to make me want to buy your album.
Dannii later appeared to backtrack. At 1.35am this morning she used to Twitter to publish this statement: 'Danni made a joke about the lyrics of Danyl's song, referencing a recent newspaper interview he has given about his private life. She spoke to Danyl straight after the show, explained what she was talking about and he wasn't offended in the slightest.
'Danni is mortified if her comments have been misinterpreted as she has always been hugely supportive of the gay and bisexual community for her entire career.'
I still adore her, I think if she had worded what she said better she could've been a hero right now haha. But yeah, it still was innappropiate.
What did everyone think about the outfits that Kandy Rain wore and the controversy regarding them? I can see where Cheryl and Danni were coming from in that the band wished to be seen differently than what the papers were portraying them as, then they should not have dressed as they did. Imo though, it was more the stylists who dressed them at fault than the band. Perhaps they ought to have done some modern version of the girls in the original video
Ahh yes the results. If the twins dont go I will eat my own face. I wonder who will be in the bottom? I'm guessing them and ricky (i think its ricky, the lad that wore the hat?)
They're like funky discoguys, too cheesy for their own good but that's what makes them funny. I have yet to find someone who shares my opinion though..
I love Lucie even more though =) Did anyone catch the 'daddy's girl' comment about the potatoes in the supermarket? Me and my housemates just went awwww.....
I've always liked Danni but her comment made me feel sick. I just felt so bad for him being outed like that. I wouldn't say her comment was homophobic but the reason i had a problem with what she said was because regardless of what the papers have said about Danyl it is by no means her place to out him on national tv, she took his right to choose away whether he is or isn't. I know i would have been mortifified if someone had of outed me before i was ready.
I love Miss Frank i think they are really different.
:)
Cheryl Cole is cute, where is she from though? She's got the strangest accent.

Thank you, my friend. Next time I'll just come and ask you. You're a walking encyclopedia, you are.
I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of meeting someone from Newcastle...
Are you guys from the US

The US?!

Geordies!
To be totally honest, who would even want to take the Newcastle out of the girl! Cheryl is amazing because she's a Geordie & just because she doesn't speak like an absolute toff doesn't mean people can't understand her. You don't even need to listen to her, just look. x
Good Start

I tottally agree it's not something that in this society people should have to hide and it's been in the papers for a while...but if he's bisexual shouldn't he be able to change the word man to girl in a song? It could just be to make his music appeal to a wider demographic, I don't think it's hiding who he is or his sexuality. I sort of think why did danni have to point it out and make his sexuality into an issue and I think that's what Simon ment when he said not to play those games.
First Live Show
I thought first live show was really good.
Quote

Kandy Rain
What did everyone think about the outfits that Kandy Rain wore and the controversy regarding them? I can see where Cheryl and Danni were coming from in that the band wished to be seen differently than what the papers were portraying them as, then they should not have dressed as they did. Imo though, it was more the stylists who dressed them at fault than the band. Perhaps they ought to have done some modern version of the girls in the original video
Smallest pic ever, but ya get the jist!
Is brea liom na mna
First show
Last night's show was really rather good.
I muchly liked Olly, Lloyd and Lucie, they were the favourites of the night. Strongly dislike the twins and...
WHAT WAS UP WITH LOUIS' FACE!?!?!? i was almost scared by him :S. twas weird.
looking forward to the results later
Ahh yes the results. If the
Ahh yes the results. If the twins dont go I will eat my own face. I wonder who will be in the bottom? I'm guessing them and ricky (i think its ricky, the lad that wore the hat?)
I love the twins =D
They're like funky discoguys, too cheesy for their own good but that's what makes them funny. I have yet to find someone who shares my opinion though..
I love Lucie even more though =) Did anyone catch the 'daddy's girl' comment about the potatoes in the supermarket? Me and my housemates just went awwww.....
I've always liked Danni but
I've always liked Danni but her comment made me feel sick.
