Triathlon, anyone?

Are there any other les/bi triathletes out there?Anyone hoping to train for or complete a triathlon in the near future?

Care to share training tips, race stories, etc.?  Or, if anyone's looking to get started, maybe we could offer some advice.

Various races . . .

This weekend I have a reverse sprint distance race at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles), and at the end of the month I'm racing Olympic distance at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I'm finishing up my last year at school, so I get to race within a collegiate conference, which means plenty of races, plus a great team. I'll probably try to work in a few more races over the summer, after I return home to Kansas. I'm going to miss all the warmth and sunshine of California for training, I'm sure!

What distance do you prefer? And how long have you been involved with tri?

Hey, I am!

I've started going to gym recently bcoz my jeans just didn't fit anymore. So I do a lot of strength training 3 times a week and I also run/spin 3 times a week. Recently I started swimming as well with an instructor coz swimming's just not my strong point.

My goal is to finish at least one triathlon by the end of the year. I've already lost 7kg and I'm such a happy bunny:)

**My personal trainer is so HOTTT and I have such a crush on her! too bad I'm too shy to say/do anything about it. I get all tongue tied like a 13 year old school girl in her presence. NOT cool for a 29 year old...

Wow!

So amazing! Congratulations on all your hard work!

I have to say, I'm not too excited about the tongue-tied thing, though. I have the same problem, but I keep hoping that I'll grow out of it eventually . . . Guess not in the next eight years or so . . . But training together is one of my favorite casual dates, because there's all kinds of opportunity for casual, "accidental" touch. I think you should use that to your advantage ;-). Or you could drop little comments like, "You know, vigorous exercise increases blood flow to the genitals, which makes sex much more satisfying." Or something.

Keep us updated on your training and racing! I'd love to know how your first triathlon goes!

trihardist, good luck with

trihardist, good luck with your race this weekend!

I've been a runner most of my life and got interested in triathlons two years ago after being sidelined too many times with running related injuries. Now that I do shorter distances, I've pretty much been injury free. :) I'd like to get to 1/2 IM, but not this year.
