Consumption (a poem)

You consumed me

Every thought, dream, desire

Like fuel to an already raging fire

The idea of you inspiried me

To want to weave words into verses

That could never begin to describe the feelings I hide

The nouns and verbs cant paint a picture of my mind when your inside

You were like drops of honey on a bitter tongue

And yet the alcohol to a wound

You were the melody to my heart song, but you didnt sing-a-long

You were like water to my barren naive desert

Sprouting flowers of self enlightenment

And opening my eyes to the other side

And though you arent as constant in my mind

The memory, so strong, remains the same

You consumed me

I've beened devoured

Holding my breath for so long I've turned blue

And wondering what are the chances that I've consumed you

Nice line. Alcohol stings unlike the sweetness of honey...yet the alcohol still purifies and cleanses us. I like that.
