Guess what, I wrote a poem.

Okay so I accepted years ago that I'm crap at poetry... and usually I try far too hard and it ends up oozing with cheese yet hardly communicating anything effectively.

Somehow I've restored hope that I can actually write, but probably because I know it's only for here... and I won't have a teacher marking it. Still, I'd love to know what you think =)

Here goes:

She’s strong.

 

her thoughts concrete

yet trapped in her mind

waiting for someone worthy

 

her body built

for only the toughest of tasks

so that she may perform and impress

 

her words selected

so carefully

to maintain a front which brings mystery

 

her aura dominant

it stands tall and tells us

“this is who I am”

 

She’s gentle.

 

her heart open

with an endless capacity to love

in so many different ways

 

her beauty alluring

softly crafted since birth

incomparable to any other

 

her depth intriguing

reflected in kind, brown eyes

so easy to get lost in

 

her nature caring

so instinctively protective

and a guardian of those she cherishes

 

Strength and gentleness.

 

two qualities I never expected

could co-exist so harmoniously

in one person.
