everyone is enjoying the l-word dvd box ??i've been thru all episodes right now, and F$%k this show is the best i have ever seen so far.the storys, the characters and the actresses are so freakin realistic, it's amazing!a lot of delicious scenes...yum....i have to say most affected i was by - believe it or not - the marina/jenny thing.at times especially this story gave me such a huge flashback to my past, weird.....but what a great acting between karina lombard and mia kirshner, very intensely!!.....i find both have a extraordinary chemistry together....

Karina Lombard seemed to hint in the last issue of Girlfriends magazine that she has been with a woman or at least that shes open to that idea. Oh we can all dream. Shame she won't be back next season, heres hoping they at least bring back the soup chef.
If Karina is not asked to come back for season 2, I think I would and I never do that. She really is one of the only reasons I watch the show. Karina is so f**king HOT/SEXY.

Marina has the capability to make a straight girl think twice and I hope that is what this all turns out to be. I hope she isnt used to unleash but create a new found power inside Jenny. It's possible. I've known so many straight girls who would go the other route for a special someone ;-)....It's never me though...pfft.

I would like to know if someone here could understand what Marina said in the second episode when she spoke in italian and french. I was reading the transcript and her words were not there.
If anyone could help here telling me her exactly sentences (in the original language, and, if it isn't asking too much, the translation too) I would be really thankfull!
I think it was two sentences in italian (right after she kicks Lacey out of The Planet and then when everybody makes a toast abour Jenny's engagement) and one in french (when she lives Jenny's house after the dinner in the end of the episode).

And then when Francesca shows up, Marina all of a sudden becomes some sort of subdued woman, she seems to be Francesca's love pet, and she just seems to be another piece of art in what appears to be Francesca's home more than hers... Grrrr. That did not fit at all with what was shown of her temper and character at the start of the show. Now when I watch the pilot again, I have the impression there are two very different Marinas in the show, and I'm afraid I like the first one better.

to me the problem with marina was that her character wasn't really developed as an individual in season 1. she didn't have her own identity and storyline... she was conditioned by jenny's storyline (which i found really annoying) and she was more of an supporting role than a main character to me.
Oooh, I definately hope we see more more of Marina over time- though she isn't really my favourite character I do find her very interesting and well, to be frank, she is damn sexy!

I don't know why I think this (I have not read spoilers or anything like that), but I guess as Mia Kirshner is a pretty big "name" actor on the show (second only to Jennifer Beals?), they won't want to lock her into the one storyline for too long.
This would be such a shame as the screen positively sizzles whenever Marina and Jenny are anywhere near the focus. And judging from the positive reaction Karina Lombard is garnering across the L-universe, it'd be a mistake if she's pushed to more a supporting than star role.

Well, I certainly hope that the TPTB and Showtime all realize how beloved KL and Marina are. I heard there were reshoots as of late (after the fact that the they already finished shooting season 1). I pray to God that they're keeping her as part of the cast.
