Pat Robertson
Well I watched that video posted in response to Pat Robertson's quote that legalizing gay marriage would be the equivalent to legalizing sex with ducks. I wasn't familiar about who Pat Robertson is, so I of course googled him lol. I found this site:
http://www.geocities.com/CapitolHill/7027/quotes.html
It's pretty one-sided, but I was reading the quotes, and I was astonished at the things he has said and other religious and political figures have said about homosexuality. This quote angered me more than any other:
"Many of those people involved with Adolph Hitler were Satanists, many of them were homosexuals--the two things seem to go together."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/21/93
First of all, I have studied the Holocaust in depth, watched almost every movie and tv show about it, and even took a college class specifically about genocide with a focus on the Nazi Germany persecution of Jews and other minorities. There were only 2 known homosexuals in Hitlers inner circle, and they were both executed. One was Ernst Rohm, his second in command next to Himmler and Chief of the SA. The other I can't remember his name, but he was executed along with his wife because he was believed to be homosexual, and pictures of his wife in compromising positions with other women were exposed. It is believe they married to protect each other.
Anyways, there is no evidence that suggest that Rohm or the other guy (I swear I'm going to find his name lol) were satanists.
It's ridiculous when people with influence say things like these that are complete lies. It's really bad because people will jsut listen, and instead of looking up whether it's true or not for themselves, they will just take it as the truth.
What do you guys think?
Oh, this one should make any woman on this site angry:
"I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that's the way it is, period."--Pat Robertson, "The 700 Club," 1/8/92
Any questions?
