SOUTH OF NOWHERE - Season 3

THE N GREENLIGHTS THE THIRD SEASON OF THE CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED TEEN DRAMA SOUTH OF NOWHERE
FROM THE TOM LYNCH COMPANY

The GLAAD Award-Nominated Program for Best Drama Series Resumes Production In Los Angeles This Spring On 16 New, Original Episodes Slated To Premiere Fall 2007

NEW YORK, February 16, 2007 – The critically acclaimed teen drama, South of Nowhere will return for a third season on The N, the nighttime network for teens, it was announced today by Sarah Tomassi Lindman, SVP and General Manager, The N. The series which was recently nominated for its second GLAAD Award in the category of Best Drama Series explores one family's journey of honesty and self-discovery in the fast-paced City of Angels. This spring, production will begin on 16 new original 30-minute episodes from The Tom Lynch Co. that are slated to premiere Fall of 2007.

"We are proud to begin production on a series that continues to be applauded by both our teen viewers and an esteemed organization such as GLAAD," said Lindman. "We have created an authentic teen series that speaks to our audience with honesty and acceptance."

South of Nowhere is a fictional story about a contemporary American family and their multi-faceted journey of self-discovery. Set in Los Angeles, the series chronicles the five members of the Carlin family as they try to define themselves and make sense of their lives while they undergo a huge transition -- moving from a small town in Ohio to the big city of Los Angeles. The Carlins find they are unprepared for the fast-paced, metropolitan environment and the overcrowded, "anything goes" L.A. public school the family's three teenagers attend. The family is at the heart of the series and while their characters are unique, they reflect many American families today -- bound by their evolving identity and their close relationships.

"We are thrilled that South of Nowhere has been picked up for a third season," said creator Tom Lynch. "The N has consistently been the right network and the right partner for this series about teens growing up in Los Angeles. The new season promises to be the most explosive, heartfelt, and funny one yet."

Tom Lynch, founder and CEO of The Tom Lynch Company, began his career as a rock-n-roll producer on Don Kirschner's Rock Concert and as creator-writer-producer of Night Tracks. With an extensive roster of television hits to his credit—including Caitlin's Way, Just Deal, Skate, Galidor: Defenders of the Outer Dimension, and the Emmy-nominated Scout's Safari, which was set and filmed on location in South Africa—Lynch rediscovered his musical roots with the hip-hop sitcom Romeo!, starring rap artist Master P and his real-life son, Romeo, and Class of 3000, a co-production with André Benjamin of OutKast, which debuts this fall. Lynch and the company that bears his name continue to create groundbreaking, uniquely fresh, innovative shows that resonate with audiences around the world by "illuminating the magic of the human experience"—celebrating all the drama, the humor, the quirkiness and reality of human beings' lives.

great news!

I guess that means Clays character will end up being the one shot on prom night. Hopefully Ashley&Spencer will stay together in the new season. I second the idea that they will actually have a physical/intimate relationship. The whole lets just hug and hold hands thing is a little unrealistic.

I'm pleased SoN will be back

I'm pleased SoN will be back for a third season but I really hope the writers give Spashley the same treatment as the straight couples on the show.  SoN writers etc are more than happy to take all the kudos and plaudits from the Gay community and accept the awards so a true reflection of their relationship in the show would be brilliant.

season premiere on saturday

i saw the season premiere saturday night and i can't blame spencer for breaking up with ashley. ashley is so frustrating with her indecisiveness and her inability to choose between spencer and aiden. i mean can you believe the same episode where she says she chooses spencer she winds up in bed with aiden at the end of the episode. i know there's going to be a new character who's going to be a love interest for spencer and all i can say about that is bring it on. the only way for ashley to truly appreciate spencer and to make any true effort to get her back is to lose her to another incredibly hot girl and then maybe she'll get off her butt and fight for spencer instead of immediately going to aiden for some "comfort" whenever things get too hard to deal with

Bart: Mom, am I a butch or a femme?

Marge: [with hand lifted] Honey, you can be anything you want to be.
