L Word Sex Scene analysis for dissertation which scene? For my dissertation am looking at the progression of lesbian sex scenes on screen, analysing the sex scene in Desert Hearts (indie film with a romantic love scene) then Bound (mainstream sex scene) and finally 2 scenes from the L Word. Now my question is which sex scenes should I analyse in my paper as they need to be a progression of the previous sex scene. One should be casual sex so guessing Shane and someone but which scene and then a scene between a monogamous couple that is quite explicit was thinking of that scene between Bette and Tina that was quite rough and many thought almost seemed like rape. Can't remember what season or episode that was from.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
Also trying to define the difference between lovemaking and unemotional liaisons (casual sex, thought it sounced better lol for my paper)? Keep changing the dissertation as before was lesbian directed sex scenes VS male directed by found that too confusing lol progression of sex scenes seems to be better and less theory Submitted by nikkif99uk (700 posts) on April 28, 2009 - 6:50am. |

I am currently finishing up
I am currently finishing up my senior undergrad thesis on lesbian representation as seen through the l word. The scene that you want between Bette and Tina occurs in the season finale of season 1.
For Shane you could use season 2 episode 5 in which she discusses with Mark what constitutes the primary lesbian sex act. The end of the episode shows her and an unknown partner engaging in that sex act. Or instead of using Shane there is Alice and Uta the lesbian vampire 3.5. Then there is Papi and Alice in 4.2 I think Papi is a better example then Shane, especially since she has really strict rules about one night stands.
So I'm analysing the
So I'm analysing the Tasha/Alice first scene and wondered how people think the scene has progressed since Desert Hearts and Bound
In terms of editing, camera work, mise-en-scene, lighting etc. Any analysis you can think of am nearing the end and getting a block. Its due in a few days arghh
thanks for the suggestions i
