i went back in '06. i had a blast! it was a group of us. i'm going this year too. this time i'll be 21 which definitely helps with going to clubs and parties.
i remember down in the village they had a little carnival with food and drag shows. i remember this one singer, he had a beautiful voice. if you can make it definitely go!! there's parties galore that week. get some friends together. let me see if i can post some pics...

and I had a blast. I'm not 21 yet so I can't really get into bars/clubs but I still had a good time. I personally think that the key is to go with good people. If you can find some fun people to chill with, it makes the experience that much better. When I went, it was pouring out but I still had a great time. I plan on going again this year and I can't wait!

There's the Link for NYC Pride. I went last year, it rained and it was AWESOME! Even in the rain everyone had an amazing time. It was wicked hot so the rain was helpful! The Website has all of the events going on throughout the week of Pride. The actual parade is a blast. Make sure to get there kind of early to get a good spot. I watched from around 14th Street with my girlfriend and had a great view.
As far as Bars and Places to Go/Things to do in NYC I could go on and on. Check out my blog, I list a lot of fun things to do in NYC.
Off the top of my head, Stonewall has a Ladies Night Every Friday. Henrietta Hudson's is a in the Village, as is the Cubby Hole. The later is a teeny tiny. Henrietta's is small. Every Monday night in Bryant Park is Movies in the Park Starting June 15th (I think) There are Central Park Concerts which are usually free.
There are amazing Lesbian Pop Up Parties all over Manhattan as well.

Also, Rapture on the River is the All-Ladies Party during Pride. If you're here all weekend, Head to Long Island to Fire Island which is super duper gay. We also discovered Asbury Park on the Jersey Shore -it's the "New Fire Island"=Really Gay

I'm from long island so it's not too hard a trek but any tips or useful info would be well useful. I really want to have fun and meet some people because having zero gay friends pretty much bites.

im soooo excited about pride this year!! the parade/pridefest were amazing last yr even tho it rained. i heard pier pressure at the chelsea piers (thrown by henriettas and lovergirl - two sickkkk lez clubs) is gonna be poppin on sat night. and all the gay clubs are gonna be packed on sunday!!
i'm just tryna figure out what to do b/w the parade and the clubs on sunday...is there an in between? or do ppl just head to the clubs crazy early? (i didn't get to do clubs last yr for pride)

one of the people (my bff) that i originally planned on going with canceled last minute with some bullshit story about visiting his grandma. wtf. so i missed the parade and debated if should even leave for pridefest that evening...
I missed the actual parade but..I ended up going to the village and meeting some guy friends at a sushi bar called Aja. we went bar hopping and we had soooo much fun!! I had no idea i could have such pure fun haging out and dancing with a bunch of gay dudes!! LOL we went to this chic little bar/restaurant that was not too crowded just crowded enough. my group was in the back. i guess people got a few drinks in and a few minutes later the place turned into this wild party!! it was such a sausagefest but i did not care, i had a blast! before that we actually hit the historic STONEWALL INN! it was great (downer: the drinks were overpriced and watered down!). they played like 5 Michael Jackson songs in a row and we sang and danced our hearts out!

Pride was amazing this year. I got supersoaked by the float with the ladies on the fire truck :D, got a guy to vogue for me and got flashed by a mid aged man lol. Can't wait for the one next year. This was my first pride parade, and definitely not my last
