Love the show, especially Vero. But I saw a preview and it seems that it was a farewell party for her. I read comments on Youtube that the actress (Carolina Cerezuela) was looking for wider options for her career. So yeah, a "career move" they say, she's leaving the show.

I'm still saddened by this, I don't want to even watch the new episodes for Season 17 (I'm that sad...and bitter I guess. Haha), but that's how things turn out. I was also wishing that her character would stay and that she'd be paired with a new girl, but then again, not happening. So, I'll be rewatching the previous seasons (14-16) if I want my fix for a gorgeous psychiatrist. Hehe.

I'm a huge huge Maca and Vero fan, but clearly Maca doesn't  love V anymore.. :(
Actually as much as i think M and V had amazing chemistry and all, i don't think Maca ever really actually loved Vero, Vero was more like a rebound from Esther for Maca.
And that sucks for Vero, since she has fallen so hard for Maca :(

17x02 is Vero's last episode before she leaves and i'm freaking devastated.

I'm with you too. I still feel crushed that her character has left the show. Now I'm thinking, the only thing that could ease me is to somehow see her, in whatever parallel Spanish tv primetime universe it is, dropping a visit to an outrageous police station and stirring things, diagnosing and laughing along with two hot agents (Pepa y Silvia from Los Hombres de Paco)

OK....this borderlines the impossible, but I have my head on this idea for some time now. I mean, Pepa had mentioned having a friend "Maca" in one episode already back then. So I thought, why not have another "Vero" friend? Seriously now, I think I need a real pyschiatrist! Haha!

when are maca and esther getting back together? i can't belive they split up in the first place! though i'm not quite sure what happened, but they seemed to have a good thing going for the first couple of seasons...

this show treats them like every other couple, it's friking amazing.

I miss Vero so hard. She was absolutely hilarious and had the sexual chemistry with Maca that is clearly lacking with Esther. Don't get me wrong - they clearly portrayed Maca as still in love with E all along, but the UST was definitely Vero. M/E are cute, what with the more serious emotional involvement, but goddamn...nothing can beat that maca/vero locker scene.

BUT since i love Maca so much I guess I will continue to watch, and hope she has a whole lotta scenes with Claudia. heh.

I'm sad about Vero's departure from Hospital Central. Obviously things between her and Maca would never work out as Maca has always been in love with Esther but Vero should have stayed around and hooked up with someone else. I mean, SERIOUSLY, there would be freaking long queue of girls lining up for Vero!

Does anyone think Youtuber rachelm42 is biased against Vero? I watch her videos 'cause she adds English subs and though the videos are supposed to included Vero, her parts are always cut out if they are not Maca-Vero related. I first thought Vero was just an eye candy bimbo but grew to love and invested in her character. I like Vero and Rai's friendship and they have mad chemistry. I love Vero's flirty, playful nature and she makes Maca much more fun. Love the scene in the locker, in the shower (oh my lawd!).

While I first adored Maca & Esther, their break-up was a huge mess. They lost their spark and I suspect that must be the old couple syndrome. I still watch HC now but I do not care that much really.

Betty - you are absolutely right. I wondered that as well, since not only were Vero scenes cut short, but some Maca-Vero small or "non relationship" scenes aren't included. 

I also agree about Maca/Esther...while I completely believe the love they have for each other, which is terrifically portrayed, I don't think they have much sexual chemistry. Especially with old couple syndrome and the affairs, etc. Maca/Vero were....well. The fact that they had a locker scene and not M/E says a lot. The latter couldn't pull it off, but does 'sweet  and shippy' better. 

 It was CC's choice to leave HC, so they had no choice to make her leave. I'm glad she didn't die on her way out! 

i started watching Hospital Central just recently -- love the sexual chemistry between Maca and Vero.  Carolina Cerezuela played Vero with great fun, and her character always radiated with optimism and deep affection for Maca.  wish she'd stayed on longer. 

at the same time I'm very touched by the tender love between Maca and Esther.  And Maca is simply irresistable!  her eyes and every emotion have such convincing sincerity.  i'm very surprised that Patricia Vico's Maca has topped JB's Bette as my #1 character... mmhhmmm.

I just saw the latest epi and I cannot believe what is happening...freaking Bea decides to commit suicude, jumps off a building and takes Esther with her!?!?!

Things that are pissing me off about all this needless drama

1. Esther and Maca are medical professionals for Chrissake.Couldn't they see the early signs that Bea was going round the bend when she took Pedro and went off? Hell, I thought she was off balance right from the beginning (the way the character was played)

2. Where was the freaking psychologist when they examined Bea? She has had a panic attack before, why did no one (Esther or Maca) think to refer her to a pyshcologist?

3. Why does Esther's battery always die on her at the wrong times (happened when she was pregnant as well)

4. MACA! Did she not have enough presence of mind to realise what was going on? To shout out "Esther" like that when Bea is leaning off a ledge holding Esther's hand. In fact, I am so pissed, 'cos it looks as though the whole incident is triggered because of Maca's stubbornness (Bea reacted to her presence when she jumped, taking Esther with her)

WTF is all I can say. I am so pissed.....

...the season is over and we have to wait till September. What a terrible way to leave us hanging! At least, I can draw consolation that it was a more consistent storyline than the last season of L Word, and wait patiently.

I want to mention that I like this show for something more than the lesbian relationship (though that was why I started watching it). I like the attention to fleshing out all the characters, and the stories of the patients. Above all I like it that both Maca and Esther are a very 'real' couple and their relationship is treated very matter-of-factly. Until now, with all this suicidal spurned lesbian lover drama...

I hope that Vero will come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Esther is boring and not hot

I love the Maca and Esther pairing. They just fit together. Although, I haven't seen the Vero/Maca clips so I can't rightly say they are better.

I've got one question: Why is that that Hospital Central does not seem very popular on this forum?

I mean, for instance,  Otalia gets a lot of comments when (in my opinion "nothing" ever happens, well Ok ....might finally happen. Hope so for Otalia's fans). Los hombres de Paco still gets a lot too despite the most terrible ending.

What's the problem why HC in your opinion?

Ok I am perfectly aware that we all have different standards, different tastes, the world would be boring if we were all the same but...It seems that the Italian version of Hospital Central is starting to get a lot of posts, I've even read some comments about how for some it is better that HC. I still don't get it! I've watched every serie/film with a lesbian storyline, and for me HC is the show that has the more chemistry (except for the kissing part!). Maca and Esther's relationship works way better than any other for me. Does make me a fan?

So, to come back to Therapia d'Urgenzia in my opinion, it is only a "pale copy" of HC: I think that the actresses are not as good, not as beautiful, not as hot (all the contrary), the storyline is not working, no emotion, no complicity, no laughing.....somewhat vulgar at times.....

BUT,

 I think the interest of the Italian version lies in the fact that the relationship is treated in a drastically different way than in HC. The shows are representative of two distinct cultures, and this is what I find interesting.

In HC, and this is probably why I like it, Maca and Esther's relationship is accepted by all, they're considered as a couple like any other, we're beyond all the usual stuff!

 When male characters in HC are pretty gentle, tender & "simpaticos", Esther's boyfriend in TDU embodies the perfect cliche of the Italian man. You can definetely feel the burden of the Italian family/ paternalistic tradition. A mother, Encarna, for the Spanish version, a father for the Italian one and so on, and so on....

I was at first very happily surprised that a lesbian couple would get such treatment on a Spanish national channel, and I'm sadly - not surprised - by the Italian treatment.

It seems that we're still a long way from acceptance & tolerance. Spain is teaching us a lesson in that respect. Showing a lesbian couple in a Italian serie is a very important step though. And don't get me wrong, France stands somewhere in between...

So, no news as yet on what has happened to Esther? Going by the season's trends for lesbian characters on soaps, they would kill her off after letting her linger long enough to get our hopes up?!!

Oh well, unlike LDHP, at least they let us see them getting married and having kids - something to be grateful for.

I think watching with zero expectations will serve me better than hoping for the best...
