South of Nowhere lesbians may disappear!!

Okay if you watched to season 2 finale of south of nowhere and you are religiously addicted to it then you understand the pain i felt... im not even kidding...if ashley goes with aiden im going to cry! the only reason i watch that damn show is for the lesbian theme without spashley i dont know what is gonna happen!!!

Meh

They didn't even act like a couple.. more like best friends who kiss eachother on the cheek really.

wtf?

Uncool!  i hope ashley does screw aiden and spencer finds someone who's really her girlfriend, not a benefriend.

here's what i think is going to happen...

Ashley seduces Aiden. Aiden succumbs. Aiden is then racked with guilt and begins to have futuristic and unnverving visions to deal with his malfunctioning emotional state (he becomes what we may call the "jenny" character). Spencer meanwhile, takes to hanging out at a local lesbian cafe, where she meets 7 to 11 other such gorgeous and lusty lesbians. They talk about life and sex and breast-feeding, all the rest. Spencer sleeps with a few of them, but remains on good terms. Ashley disappears and returns as an evangelical trucker after the hiatus.

I dunno, I just have this premonition...

I kinda wish Spencer would

I kinda wish Spencer would find someone else who has less drama. I think that because Ash looks/feels conflicted, Spencer should let her go find out what she wants. If I were in her shoes, it'd be really hard for me (and it'd be hard for her), but I'd let her go. Then she should find someone who doesn't really have any baggage and is just really into her!

SON My Take on Season 3

I think we have all had enough of the "come here, go away" Ashley has been puttting on Spenser. Ashley is just too insecure to really show up for a girl like Senser who has really shown up for herself through all the brainwashing and crap her family has thrown at her. She said it in season 1 when she confronted Ashley in the bar and said make a choice...I have to figure out my life, I can't just be friends with you. I think in Season 3, if she is still alive, she will become an activist (the girl has Harvard Law School written all over her), she will meet a new girl who will do more than peck her on the cheek once in awhile and teenagers will see that you can survive the breakup of your "first love". Ashley of course will provide MUCH DRAMA but she blew it big time. Spenser would have to be crazy to take her back.

My Prediction

As I writer I have a prediction for season three. My prediction is, Ashley and Spencer break up, Spencer meets a new girl. Ashley gets pissed and of course causes drama with Spencer. Then after so much drama and Spencer's new g/f getting pissed Spashley will once again be together. It'll keep viewers watching simply because we want to see one of our favorite lesbian couples together. And keep in mind that South of Nowhere is basically a Spashley story. They are the centered couple..otherwise...why do we see a pic of the two of them at the end of the opening credits?

I completely agree...exactly what i think.....or hope for, i think it'd be refreshing to throw a new girl in that catches spencers eye...but in the end i want ashley to work it out and realize how great it was with spencer!

I'm not worried.

South Of Nowhere isn't the O.C. after all. That's why it's still on the air. :D BURN! Okie dokie, as much as I would love the big angsty Spashley break-up to happen, why would it be over Aiden? ...Seriously? Maybe someone would do something that stupid in real life, but on a TV show where everything is idealised and people act like they really feel? Things can't be so obscure (because it's on a network for teens who can barely speak English) because the target audience wouldn't get it. It makes me ashamed of my generation to admit that. Because, personally, I would LOVE to see something really complex and ambiguous and exploratory on TV, but South just so is not that show, unless you choose to make it so.

First rule of being the big, out, token lesbian in school/the family/teen TV shows...Do NOT go back to the boy who got you pregnant, unless you intend to throw up on him!

Maybe I am lagging in my South of Nowhere news, but has it been confirmed that there will even be a third season?

Nope, still no news on if there will be a S3 or not. I would think there will be given it is one of The N's highest rated shows and it had better ratings this season than last, but you never know.

From what i have heard!!!

So, I have heard that they started filming in January. But, again not everything you read on the internet is true....

I have the solution

First, put me on the show

Then, make the season LONGER

~I got that remedy~

90210 Lite?

If they take the lesbian aspect out of this show, it will be a poor woman's 90210. Why would anyone watch it if they have 10 other shows on the same network that are just like this? Bah. Madness, I say.

Season 3

Yes, it has been confirmed that there will be a season 3 and it will be 16 episodes. Longer than previous seasons.

I was never thrilled with

I was never thrilled with the show in the first place, it really actually irritates me. I've tried so many times to give it a chance, but it's so incredibly fake that relating to it is damn near impossible. One episode Spencer is a lesbian, the next she's confused, and the next she's fighting with Ashley, the openly lesbian character, over Aiden. What?! I also feel like it's representing lesbians in such a horrible way, I know that isn't the shows purpose, but it still drives me up a wall.

It came out at a time where it was, I guess you can say, extra-acceptable for women and teenage girls especially to question their sexuality. And I am glad there is a show out there targeting girls that is saying, "It's okay to question yourself," but it's hard to deliver that message clearly when the characters sexuality changes more times than I change my socks. ;x

End of rant.

Villanelle's picture

I know

I know how you feel. The finale was sooooo frustrating... they kill spashley they kill the show... cause being honest we watch it - and by 'we' I mean lesbians or bisexuals (who I'm sure represent the great majority of the audience) - just because of spashley!!!!!

ashley and spencers relationship

Season 3 needs to focus more on the relationship between ashley and spencer.  From the comments I've read it's obvious that the audience is not happy with their relationship, or lack there of!  At the very least they should show the two main charachters showing as much affection etc towards each other as they do the hetero characters.  I am sick of seeing Glen and Madison and Aiden and whoever engaged in lip locks or in bed together whilst Spencer and Ashley's love scenes are cut short.

I know the writers are trying to portray a real lesbian relationship they are not doing a very good job.  Don't get me wrong, I love the drama and the angst, but PLEASE we just want an honest and real portrayal of two girls in love...

My prediction

Spencer and Sugar... er, I mean Ashley... will break up. Spencer will start to date Saint... er, some other girl. Sugar will go back to guys.... I mean Ashley...

And there will be FAR LESS explicit lesbian SEX than on Sugar Rush. Now THAT I mean.

I have a question for you all, do you think you will keep watching South of Nowhere if the girls suddenly take a straight pill and they're all cured? Even if only one is left God please! I am seriously boycotting the show if they go the straight and narrow...hmmm what you think??

browne's picture

It depends a lot on how it's

It depends a lot on how it's handled, and what the overarching plotline is. What I'm hoping in the next season is that Ashley and Aiden will get together for a while only to create a dramatic obstacle between Spencer and Ashley... and that the arc of the season will be Ashley slowly working her way back to Spencer. If that's what happened, I wouldn't really have a problem with it. Since as far as I know they have never stated definitively that Ashley is a lesbian... and if she is bisexual, it is fair enough for her to date guys. But I definitely want to see her wind up with Spencer, not Aiden.

I'm hoping that it will be a bit like The OC or something where Seth and Summer are the 'It' couple, and although they date other people to create plotlines, the conclusion is always that they wind up together. If Ashley dates Aiden for a while and Spencer dates another girl, but they are back together by the end of the season, I'll be OK with that.
