All time favorite?I'm looking for new movies to watch and I was wondering what you'd recommend and why... Who's your favorite? And on a side note... did anyone see 'millennium actress'? I had never heard of it but I recently saw it and it was pretty confusing but I liked the "the key to the most important thing in the world" thing Submitted by AoiSora (112 posts) on January 20, 2007 - 7:58pm. |

Office Space!!!
Office Space (with Ron Livingston and Jennifer Aniston) is definitely my favorite and I highly recommend it. It's funny without being overly silly and Milton has to be the funniest character I've seen.
And I haven't seen Millenium Actress, but I'll definitely give it a watch.

Cool, thanks! I'll see if I can find it somewhere =)
And maybe you'll understand 'millenium actress' better than I do, because I even needed my friend to explain the whole point. I was like "Huh? Now, what Is the most important thing?" XD As far as anime go, I like spirited away the best :)

Office Space is great, and I love Stephen Root's Character. "Um That is my stapler "
I am also partal to The Princess Bride It is a wonderful movie, but I think Labyrinth is my all time favorite movie. Coming of age, muppets and David Bowie, it's all a girl could ever want.

At least you have Star Trek Here, even if Kirk and Spock are played by Peter Falk and Donalad Sutherland.
Thanks, I never heard of em

Murder by Death
my buns...I can feel it in my buns!
OMG, this movie is so funny. I'm so glad to see someone mention it. When I talk about it I'm usually greeted with blank stares. At one time it was out of print and impossible to find, but thankfully it has been released on DVD.
The cast alone makes it worth watching. It is just such classic Neil Simon wit.
Jamesir Bensonmum is still one of my all time favorite character names.
22 Twain
This'll make three of us. I adore this movie and could watch it anytime. So quotable, too.
"IT! IT is confusing! Say your goddamn pronouns!"
Kevin Smith is my favorite
Kevin Smith is my favorite director. Jersey Girl was really bad though x.x. Ben can be a great actor (ex. Chasing Amy) and Liv Tyler is gorgeous but that didn't help at all.
I recently watched the Princess Bride and I guess all I can really say is that it's probably the best non-serious romance movie of all time. For best romance movie period though I'd have to go with As Good As It Gets.

I think that I would have to say American History X and Shawshank Redemption would be my favorite two. But Somethings Got To Give is one that I could/would watch over and over again!

Favourite Movies
My all time favourite is still 'Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe'. It has everything in it: love, but doesn't go deep into it, I don't think I witnessed a single smooch in it...... huh only just realised that. But I like that about a film, something left to the imagination. Murder, history, humour. It's just a great film.
Other than that, Labyrinth and Dogma are my other faves but nothing has managed to topple the above mentioned yet :)
Fave Movies
Too many to mention but the one I consider to be my fave is:
ET
God, what a weep-fest :-(
favourite movies
One of my new favourite movies is V for Vendetta. I watched it 3 times within 2 days and that's always a sign that I like a movie very much :)

Many many many!
If you get the chance you should try to see Cidade de Deus (or City of God). It's fantastic. Fast, well shot and a beautiful story. Also The Hours, 21 Grams, La Vita é Bella, Blood Diamond, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, Hero (Ying Xiong) if you're into the Chinse Wuxia genre and The Virgin Suicides.
More people should watch The Doors by Oliver Stone. It's brilliant. Val Kilmer is Jim Morrison.

So many to pick from
I'd have to say my favourite movie of all time is Dangerous Minds, it's just a great movie about real life and being treated like you don't fit in and showing that you can prove people wrong and make them proud. You can be the better person.
I Love Lost and Delirious too, well actualy i was obsessing over it a while back lol
I can relate to both Paulie and Tori, love is a powerful thing and if your not ready to deal with it things can flood out of control and people end up getting hurt.
I love tragic endings in movies, there full of passion and i think its more likely to remain in your mind for along time after.

Also, I love directors Gus Van Sant and Greg Araki.
Favorite Films
Ohh, sorry I forgot, 'Donnie Darko.'
There´s a difference
There´s a difference between favourite movies, the ones that i love and could watch over and over again and good movies, the ones that are written and directed very well.
- Stand by me, my all time favourite and an excellent film, I promised myself to stop watching it over and over again because some of its beauty might fade.
- Donnie Darko, best film to creep me out and haunt me for days, must seen good film.
- The Goonies, youth classic, used to watch it over and over again, was so in love with the characters, nothing made sense in this film :)
- I know what you did last summer, first horror movie i ever watched and ended up watching over and over again.
- The house on haunted hill, the classic version absolutely scared the shit out of me.
- Dangerous minds, classic
- She's all that
- Amelie
- The basketball diaries
- Requiem for a dream
Yesterday i watched two of
Yesterday i watched two of my all time fav movies. First I saw Murder on the Orient Express from 1974. It's one of the best adaptions of an Agatha Christie novel I've eever seen. And than I watched Psycho. I haven't seen both movies for years but they are still as good as i remembered them. I really like Anthony Perkins who happens to be in both movies.
