Namaste from New Delhi, India.Hi there fellow forum members *waves*. I've lurked around "afterellen" for almost an year now, love to see how it's grown and flourished. Being from a country where, lets forget the gay-clubs/nights all together, lets picture more in terms of complete ignorance and respect for an individual's personal choice; there, you probably have a good picture of India in terms of society n' their views regarding homosexuality. It could be worse. I could've been arrested! lol. No worries though, as self awareness is creeping in and the women are more independent.. so are their views and acceptance regarding the queer way of life.. thank god for being in a metropolitan like Delhi, where you keep bumping into the hidden but quite evident queer circle. With the social bondages though, emerges the species of the insecure, wannabe les-chick. Out to be a rebel in every way possible.. it gets really really messy when you're stuck in a relationship like that. Believe me, I've been there. Lack of openness, I guess. Nobody wants to sit down and talk about it.. except perhaps my valuable set of pals. My mum n' dad think I'm a freak, which is good. I can't help being honest and well- somebody ought to have told them, I'm glad they heard it from me. Now we just *shush* the subject altogether like the 'coming out' never happened. I think it is a good thing to be a Freak, and I am glad to hear that you have not been arrested. Is being arrested something that happenes much? Do you worry people will report you?
I can relate to my parents thinking I am odd and that we should not talk about what I am and how I live, but I can not imagine living on the "wrong" side of the law just to be myself.
Well I hope you and your pals bring the community you live in out of the darkness.

The majority here deals with an issue, by simply not acknowledging it until perhaps it hits them on the head in the form of a spiked baseball bat. Haven't been arrested, but I know pals who have been and you don't want me to describe that.. lets just say they were lucky enough to pull some strings and get out of there.
Our law system is full of loopholes.
Though the whole issue does create a problem, like them literally kicking me out of the hostel premises at my college. It was more like a silent contract, which I couldn't care less about.. and I did not want to rat out the other 'out' lesbians living there in the first place, so I decided to move out anyway.
The worst part still is the counselling.. but I guess one needs to truely be sure of herself in order to shut them up. Unless they put you on happy pills. Which they put me on when I first showed signs of me being me. I realised they don't care why I'm unhappy or even if I'm unhappy as long as I'm straight.
It's the lawlessness that has this country running. Everybody is breaking the rules, be it in the form of jumping redlights or being openly gay.

Number one, they've had a problem with the way I am for some time now but I kind of shut them up by working hard at being the highest scorer in the class. So they try evade everything..
Number two, I've only attended the first semester, and I never planned to stay. I'm looking at my options for art schools not only here but elsewhere (as in abroad too). I do have a couple of universities in mind.
Why do they always think it's only about the sex? Like we're some crazy teenagers running on a hormone high, eager to get it on with anything. Makes me choke with laughter. It's a way of life for me, not a temporary solution to get laid.

Maybe they are jealous that you are living your dreams. Some people just get upset that they never took the chance when they were young, and now expect peopel to fall in shut up and take it like they did.
They do not see that the world moves on, and changes, and if people do not change they will die.
Hang in there, you will overcome.

I guess you're right. I'm just peaceful knowing that no matter what happens, I won't have any regrets. They make me feel like I'm like a spy, leading a secret sordid hidden life. What makes it exciting is that it's only slightly hidden but extremely blissful, come to think of it. If being happy means I'll have to be an outcast for a long time to come.. I have no qualms about it.

I have had major fights with my mother at the dinner table (of all places) once we had this huge drama where she started throwing food at me from her plate and threw my plate away.
About places, well 4 generations from me will surely be able to enjoy places where they can hang out.

..so tired
I used to love being an insomniac, but with the tedious college routine it really doesn't work. *stretches a tad*
I'm working on the portfolio I'm going to send along with my application, so a lot of outdoor sessions.. It's a breeze spending time lazing around with a sketchpad in tow.
My ex sort of kissed me the other day, do relationships have to be so confusing? So, we're not naming things (read feelings n' our relationship status) and going by instinct.

I am well
A bit overworked, I am working my regular job and on a musical. It is not a great musical more of just a review of some of the currant broadway hits with a lose plot that ties them all together.
I think I would enjoy it if he coudl get the rights to do just one, but that is very expensive and he gets the rights to use the songs from the hits as he is a voice teacher. So his daughter write a lose based play that connect the plays.
The best was two years ago when a child going to new york dreams that she is visited by the cast of these musicals.
Well the best thing to happen to me yesterday was a woman I have this mega crush on called me and told me she broke up with her new Gf because she was dating someone else.
