25 (or less....) Things - AE edition
The '25 random facts' craze swept through facebook over the past few weeks. Even the New York Times noticed - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/05/fashion/05things.html.
I think it's time for Random Things: AE edition. Post (not so) random facts about yourself. If 25 is a bit much, start with 5.
Here's an example from my FB list:
1. When I was 11 years old, I thought I could be in charge of my own
country by the time I was 40. If I change careers now, maybe I could do
it by 55.
2. During read alouds to my students, I try to create the effect of an
old-time radio show by doing sound effects and crazy voices. You might
not believe what you were seeing if you observed this.
3. I received my first computer when I was 3. By age 12 I was programming and dual booting linux.
4. Jay-Z is my life coach.
5. I was a total mistake. My mom had the surgery to make childbearing
impossible and the doctor botched it on purpose because thought black
people wanted a lot of children. Funny how racism made me.
6. My 8 year old niece critiques my fashion sense at least once a week. I take her advice.
9. When I buy electronics, I try to make sure everything will match or accent my black Macbook and iPod.
10. I think it's mildly funny that I'm black and have a black Macbook. Since I've gone black, I've never gone back.
11. I think I'm mildly funny, in general.
13. While I was doing Tae Bo in my room the other night, I broke my Billy Bands. Frowny face.
14. I can fake being a connoisseur of most things.
16. I'm thinking about making a graphic novel of my dating disasters.
17. My New Years resolution was to stop drinking for recreational purposes. Now, I drink for professional development.
18. I can quote most episodes of Arrested Development word for word
and/or give a running commentary about what was happening behind the
scenes.
19. I like the song Tennessee by Arrested Development.
20. I still sleep with a transitional object. Its name is Mr. Pillow.
It doesn't look like a pillow anymore. If people are sleeping over,
sometimes I hide it in my closet so I don't have to explain what it is.
24. I still remember the level codes for Aladdin on Super Nintendo.
25. I've been known to interrupt conversations with 10 minute monologues about why I like or don't like something.
