Is there such a thing as TOO P.C?

Before i start, just wanted to say this is not necessarily exclusively my opinion but thought it would be interesting to see what people think.

Do you think things are getting TOO Politically Correct and a bit over the top?

Are people getting too jumpy and offended by the smallest of remarks?

I.e. i noticed a topic reply the other day where someone got a bit slammed for using the word 'breeder' in reference to straight people.
Someone else noted AE didnt use a more curvy woman to show off some underwear and thought it was a bit cliche using a skinny model (im paraphrasing obviously :)) .....

Do you think we're too defensive as a community (i dont mean to generalise!) or do you think given the level of repression in the past we're entitlted to a few years of perfect political correctedness...?

Oh and P.s the fact i had to check this so many times to avoid accidently insulting anyone is either proof of the stress of the PC epidemic or proof that i am so insensitive that i can insult people without meaning to or trying lol. jk
