FASHION VS STYLE MAKE OVER

Many of my friends have made the New Year resolution of looking and feeling better and finding the direction to complete it. I'm very happy for them :)

We have had discussions and debates on what the choice is based on; what's it fashion (trend) or your personal style. Some even stated they do not see much difference between the two.

Second debate, do you persue fashion on you own likes, body or both?

Personally I know 'Image' is all relative, however I'm into Style as I think it defines your own personal character. From the colors you choose, to the cut and design. And I do think to look good, it should complement your body type. Plus any 'make over' can not hide inner changes as well. A makeover should bring a shift (positively hopefully) in body AND mind.

EX. One style I like is sporty, the brand names not exclusively important. So I can be in Adidas, Nike etc if they have items that I like. Plus having a positive mental attitude (PMA).

So asking for your POV with questions, and suggestions that I can pass along, on styles from grungy, classy, to femme (girly) not sure how to classify it.

1) Should someone 'make over' into anything fashionable regardless of style and how it suits them?

2) Should someone have a style of your own?

3) Or the oxymoron can one aim to be fashionable stylish? ;)

In my oppinion, my style is

In my oppinion, my style is a part of my personality, I use it, to express myself. Fashion is often only a attempt, to change your appearance, exhibit your status. I can pick some elements from the actual fashion, and integrate into my style. It's ok for me. But there are a lot of people, who follow the actual trends without self criticism, and at the end they look terrible. I think everybody have a style for himself, even if its the 'fashion worshipper dandy' style. But I can't answer the last question :).

"Ha ha HA! Mine is an evil laugh..."

Precisely & interesting

Yes totally agree (if I am understanding your comment), where it's possible that people use fashion to mask the fact they are unaware of themselves or uncomfortable and/or for status placement

The key points are self expression and self criticism, meaning knowing thyself.

What works for you and what does not.  :)
