Geeky question: Integrating forum software into existing website

With all this talk about forums, phpbb, etc. I figured it's about time I posed this question to all the wonderful geeks here on AE. :) (And I mean that lovingly, of course.)

I have a phpBB forum. I have a website. But they're sadly separated. :(

How do you integrate a forum into an existing website? Granted, I don't know much about php aside from using the "php include" command to pull HTML headers and a side menu into my main site, but how do I keep that framework and put a forum inside the main body? (Example: AfterEllen's old and new forums... the menus and layout are all from the regular site with the forum in the body)

I should mention that the forum in question was created for me by a cPanel add-on called Fantastico, so I didn't do the actual coding myself but could certainly manage some sort of "cut and paste this source code" instructions if that's what it takes. I've Googled a lot but can't even find a starting point to do it.

The easiest way to do that

The easiest way to do that is by using iframes. You can find some useful information here

Frames

Oh no! *Covers eyes* Not frames!

I appreciate the response; I'm just trying to do it with my existing CSS menu layout. There's gotta be a way... *Scratches head*

How about

asking the tech support guys of the company who hosts your website? They should be able to help.

Good luck!
