Okay, seriously, the (professional) chemistry between Alice/Leisha and Rachel/Helena is AWESOME! They have the best comic timing when they're playing off each other, and their scenes together are absolutely hilarious!

Yes, the funniest scenes were with Helena and Alice. The thought of Helena rolling in a Hyundai hilarious.
But seeing Marina again was the best part of the new ep. She was as gorgeous as ever and she and Jenny still have that chemistry. Hopefully she will be around for a while.

totally agree that alice and helena have great chemistry/comic timing. they were the best part of the premiere.
things i didn't like: 1) why is that EGREGIOUSLY TACKY (not to mention just plain bad) betty song still the theme song?; 2) i miss dana, carmen, and lara; and 3) shane is being all season 1 whiny/sad/not fun to watch. oh and that boyfriend of kit's is really not cute. why do they always have to make pam grier hook up with these gross peeps? i.e., the motivational speaker that looked like a refrigerator with a head.
things i'm looking forward to: 1) watching bette reclaim alpha-lez status; 2) hoping tina dies in a freak accident; and 3) papi looks hot. also, i haven't read any spoilers but i hope marina will stay! moreover, i hope not a single member of betty shows up in any episode this season.

Hast du schonmal von einem Alpha-Männchen gehört? So bezeichnet man in der Soziobiologie die Leittiere, also die, die das Sagen haben, die wissen, wo's lang geht. Bette war immer die, die "die Hosen anhatte", mit einem Job mit Macht und Ansehen (und einem sehr guten Gehalt) und einem gesteigerten Selbstbewußtsein und stand so sozial auf einer höheren Stufe.
Ein anderer Ausdruck im Englischen, den auch im Zusammenhang mit Bette oft lese, ist: Type A (lesbian).
Ich hoffe, das beantwortet deine Frage. Auf deutsch war's vielleicht einfacher zu erklären.
P.S: Auch ein klitzekleiner Wortwitz: Alpha-Bette hört sich an wie alphabet.

Hi girls !! I had just saw the first ep. new sesson of tlw ... it was just ok. I m realy glad the Bette - Tina - Angelica - Joyce thing resolved so fast ... is was very wired passing throungh a scene to another from fiery to wiseness so quikly , but I think it was the best. And I realy hope that now this is all right the real show begins.

They have great chemistry! Wish the show would have developed their friendship a little more last year, hopefully we'll get more scenes with them together this year. I think Rachel Shelley's wonderful, I really do...but I also think Leisha would have great chemistry with any actor with a sense of humor.

Max...in the scene where they're doing the "intervention" with bette's voicemail they all "invite" max to join in. it's like the writers are making us feel guilty for "bullying" the loner kid in the schoolyard. when really daniella sea's character and acting are just plain annoying! should we all have a group hug?
SN 4 Random Thoughts
Well, Bette, Helena, Marina, and Alice are looking quite beautiful this season.
Max was just annoying kinda like Jenny was in the first season.
The new woman with Jenny needs to go.
Alice and Helena are just awesome and are a great pair.
Tina is being a total b**** this season but since im a BIG TIBETTE fan i hope they somehow work things out in the end.
Having Marina back was great.
Kit and Angus i dont know getting weird but i like him.
Shane is totally going back to season 1 and being just WEIRD!

Kit's freak out
Kit looked like a mental patient the way she was yelling and screaming at that fake doctor. She kind of scared me.
french talks
obviously K Lombard speaks french without any accent when she has her call. (she says something like " oui je garde le téléphone près de moi", i keep the phone close to me)however when she talks to Claude or Jenny ( "c'est pas grave", "c'est pas mal"), she takes back her accent (english tahitian italian one, who knows?) and her french is suddenly poor and basic, whereas we all know that Claude and Jenny speak french ; in season 3, Carmen was listening to songs sung by Brigitte Bardot, this LP belongs to Jenny.my question is quite naive: what does it mean? if Marina speaks in french to be sexy with the 2 girls, why does she choose minimalist words? are her lips already shivering by desire? if those words are supposed to make jenny a stranger in front of two fluent-french girls and then are excluded her, why are they so simple? I suppose to one purpose : to be understood by every non-speaking french watcher...else why??but maybe, as a french girl, i can't be thrilled enough by that scene...anyway please, help me, explain what difference a french talk with english accent makes to you???and by the way, i apoogize for my bad english.

Yes as a french speaking girl it's kind of funny these french words coming from nowhere... But I think too it's only to be ''exotic'' and to give Marina her ''multi-cultural'' sexyness lol As for Jenny speaking French it doesn't mean that because she listens to Brigitte Bardot and watches Truffaut movies that she is fluent, as if everyone on the planet who listens to Justin Timberlake speaks English lol Bardot is always fun to listen to and kind of trendy lol and foreign movies in North America always come with subtitles...
As for the actress who plays Jenny (Mia Kirshner) I had the surprise of my life around 2 years ago to see her at the bookstore where I worked, in Montréal! Not really much to say, but she didn't say any word of French. If only it could have been Jennifer Beals.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ;) :D

I also noticed that! I think the english-speaking public needed to understand what was going on. The thing about Marina's phone call wasn't important at all, but in the next scene they all speak English when it really matters, when Jenny's looking for an excuse.
I think they put some basic French sentences in the scene to make it more exotic, and to give the impression that Marina and Robin understand eachother whereas Jenny doesn't.
I didn't know Jenny spoke French, by the way! Are you sure about that? Why does she always speak English with Robin then?

maybe i am wrong about Jenny talking french. she at least knows french independent movies and music and i thought she mumbled a few words in french in the first season. and by Robin, you mean Claude? anyway she will certainly go away as fast as Robin disappeared from jenny's life. after hot meeting with Marina too.

Maybe I'm not loving or romantic enough...but after Kit threw up and Angus still kissed her...I couldnt help but go "EWWWWW!" lol It's still gross. You can love somebody still and still know that they're beautiful after they vomit...but...yeah....ew.

Viewership down
Since the numbers seem to be way down this year compared to last year. Does anyone else think that the show might be heading towards cancellation? It seems every year viewership decreases. I wonder how much longer showtime is going to put up with that.

Numbers don't lie and there's definitely been a major drop. Have the viewers gone with DANA and CARMEN?? Seriously after seeing a Carmen-less season premiere, I am considering jumping on the band-wagon....ok maybe after Marina's stint is over. lol.

I like the show even if I'm disappointed about a few things... but I don't think the show should have many more seasons cause sometimes, less is more. Great stories have been told but at some point, a show must stop before it gets plain boring. And I'm not just talking about TLW but also many other shows.

Anyone know when it's coming to the UK on Sky? I managed to catch the first episode... but um... lets not say how.
As for the episode itself, I have new love for Helena and Alice was absolutely ace.
Kinda p***** about the fact that Lara was just disappeared with some lame explanation. And no more Carmen either :(
I thought I'd be happier about Marina being back.... but nope. Whatever I enjoyed about her in the first season has gone. Hmm.
Looking forward to seeing the new characters and I hope they change the opening credits a bit...
