Desert Hearts Mon Amour (2009)While searching on IMDB.com, I came across the fact that there is this documentary that should be coming out in 2009. I don't know much about it...except for the description... "A documentary about the cult status and social impact of "Desert Hearts" - cinema's first lesbian love story." And several familiar names are involved...besides Helen Shaver and Patricia Charbonneau...and director Donna Deitch...like... Oh Sarah, why would you hide
Desert Hearts is awesome.
Desert Hearts is awesome. Yes, someone of my generation can still appreciate it. A lesbian film that ends well?! Gasp! Even by today's standards, that's pretty groundbreaking. And I still maintain that the best sex scene in film is in Desert Hearts. I am baffled by the relevance of Daniela Sea being interviewed for this of all people. I realize she's the Paris Hilton of lesbians and famous for being famous (or someone's girlfriend) but I am still absolutely stunned by the public's embrace of someone just because they are attractive or some superficial or materialistic ideal. Talent is SO much more appealing.
