Hi there! I am also from the Cities and hoping to go. I'd love to find a group to meet up with, as I am a recent transplant here and don't have any lgbt friends in the area yet. Feels sad being a lone protester! It would also be cool to meet up with our Minneapolis/St. Paul readers. Anyone else going?

Yup, Raleigh has a permit, it took a little while to get it all settled with the new location, but we are good to go!

I guess this means I have to make a sign now. I wonder if I can make one that highlights the poor state of lesbians in entertainment too.

Like "We want equal rights for lesbians - in real life and on TV!" :)

Lori and I will be at the park at the corner of Warren and Broadway at 1pm if anyone wants to meet up to protest with us.

I know what you mean Harpy. But I was hoping to get the attention of all those in the Various thread as way more people visit that thread than the Politics one.

I'm visiting friends and relatives in NYC, so hope to attend there.

Edit: I am so attending now that Sarah will be there. I hope I have the guts and enough courage to say hi. But there will definitely be butterflies of nervousness in my stomach. Thanks Sarah for creating such an awesome site. Btw, the sign idea sounds great.

It's entirely possible the Politics folder now has more traffic then Various. It's sort of died down over the last few months. However, your post will still generate more attention because its still there. So it works either way. And best everyone posts that they're going in one thread so we can see an accurate count. :)

So far we've got blog posts, Politics discussions, Events, Various and here. We're pretty well covered and we're already getting lots of posts here. Makes me so happy to see that!

Was thinking of going with a positive dual message on the sign...something like "Love Does Not Discriminate"... My understanding of the stick issue is that the stick just can't be more than a 1/4" in diameter otherwise it is considered a weapon..
