Thanks for your Art

Hi Robby,

Glad to have company under the new Over 50 tag!

I tend to want to do a realistic interpretation of abstract art, because what I could call my creative background, which is some of my previous work background, is non-fiction writing and documentary photography. Having said this, I find the gradual change in the shapes you chose in Amazon Metamorphosis an interesting idea. I, also, like the idea that we continue to be amazons in all stages of our lives. I guess part of the fun in works of art is that everyone has their own interpretation and appreciation of the lines, shapes, colors, light, figures, images, composition, the medium etc.

I appreciate a person's creative expression of any kind (abstract, realism, documentary, fiction, non-fiction, fantasy etc.) because it gives me an idea of what they were (are) feeling or thinking when they created their piece. Their view of things enriches my solitary, limited view of the world. Thanks for sharing your work. And please feel free to enlighten me about abstract art.

THANKS FOR THE FEEDBACK

Hi Annieb,

I am so glad for your feedback on my art work.  Amazon Metamorphosis has been a series I have been working on for a few years. I started this series when I came out in 1976 and was so amazed at the multi-national women I found in the community.  I am still working on this series.

I used to be extremely active in this community: writing poetry, reading it, publishing (printing, editing soliciting, advertising, etc.) a magazine for third world lesbians, sponsoring conferences.  Of course, I got "burned out" and retired.  I am still painting {I will be adding more work to my site before year-end}.  I would love to see your photographs and read things you have written.

Take good care.

You're Welcome Robby

And thanks for your interest in my work. AE is a wonderful site for sharing one's own creative work and ideas with other AE readers and still be able to remain anonymous, if that's what one needs to do.When I have time to start doing more photography, I'll include some of my photos in my posts.
