Religulous

I saw it opening night and I wanted to see what others who saw it thought. I dont know anyone else who has seen it.

Great film

I saw it on opening night as well and I thought it was brilliant.  I don't have as strong a distaste for religion as Bill Maher does, but I pretty much agreed with all he said.  And even if I didn't, I'm glad he was asking the questions.

Faith and religion are all about in believing in uncertainty and I think many of the people he interviewed are so entrenched in their beliefs that they put certainty in that is not there.  I particularly like that he went outside the U.S. to get a broader sense of religion in the world.  It's crazy to see that religion can be so two-sided - that it can both heal and harm.

I grew up in a church where we prayed every week for an end to racism, sexism, and homophobia.  And to see these injustices justified in the name of religion always baffled me.  I'm glad that someone is finally asking questions.

Nobody objects to a woman being a good writer or sculptor or geneticist if at the same time she manages to be a good wife, good mother, good-looking, good-tempered, well-groomed, and unaggressive. - Leslie M. McIntyre

I love Bill Maher

I was already a huge Maher fan so I had to see it. I grew up in UCC which is famous for being gay friendly and all that so I was never taught the whole kind of prejudiced side of religoun but I still dont necessarily identify it. Im glad there is this movie so it normalizes my agnosticim. Now its less of a thing to look your nose down on.
