Movies you secretly loveAfter reading through the Movies You're Supposed to Love But Hate thread I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's guilty pleasure is movie wise. I know I have my fair share of movies that I get shit for liking and I want to see if everyone else does too. ( I apologize if this has been posted before, I did a quick look and didn't see this and didn't feel up to doing a thorough search for similar topics) So I'll start.
Tank Girl - I love it, my friends think it's horrible and stupid but I can't help but suggest it everytime someone wants to watch a movie. Maybe it's Lori Petty, maybe it's her lines or maybe it's her in the torpedo bra but I can't get enough of this film.
Shoot Em' Up - I watched it with a friend the other night and loved it, my friend thought it was stupid and unrealistic. To me it's just a movie that you don't have to pay too much attention to enjoy and how many movies have you seen where someone is killed with a carrot not once but twice!
The Love Guru - I saw it in theaters with a friend and her boyfriend and laughed my ass off. My other friends said it wasn't up to Mike Myers' standards but I thought it was good. Favorite moment by far is when he was riding in the car and started fiddling with the radio and Bohemian Rhapsody came on, I got shushed because I yelled out "oh my god yes!"
There are probably allot more movies that I should be ashamed for liking but they are slipping my mind at the moment.

spice world!
My kid sister and little cousins were 5-7 at the time and I was a middle schooler, so with the girl power train flowing it was probably the most positive trend they could have fallen for. And they did, cd's dolls, etc. Til one day I had to go with them plus my mom and aunt to the movie Spice World. and I LOVED it. I felt like the only one in the the theatre who laughed when the bus driver (Meatloaf) said "i'd do anything for those girls, but I wont do that", or at the cameos from AbFab or the million other funny sly moments in the film. If it wasnt the cause for my crush on Alam Cummings, it was most DEFINITELY for my crush on Mel B, Scary Spice.I still think its a great, fun movie, thats perfect for hanging out with friends, or sleepovers, or just the nostalgia of all the music.

Tank Girl
As soon as I read the forum name I thought of Tank Girl. The "two dollars and fifteen cents" line is probably what does it for me.
Rugrats, the first 2.
DEBS, all of my friends give me crap about that.
The Little Rascals
Secretly love
Knocked up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Wedding Crashers, etc..

Disney movies
Disney movies.
I love Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, and loads of other Disney movies, mostly the old stuff. Although I do love Disney's Atlantis, but most people have never heard of it.
Old cheesy sci-fi movies, Batteries Not Included and Flight Of The Navigator to name a few.
A Walk To Remember. Makes me cry everytime.
I'm sure I have loads of others.
stick it!
i dont't care if that girl is "straight" on the movie, i pretended she was gay!
stick it
haha i'm so with you - there is no way that girl was straight! she just hadn't come out yet. she was hot too.... ohhhh missy...
apart from that i love Proof and 21 and all other mathematically nerdy movies (secretly).
Heart Breakers - Love JLH
Heart Breakers - Love JLH when she plays nasty Page.
And not so ashamed to say I LOVE BRING IT ON! WOOOOHOOOOO... yeah I love that movie so much and I don't care if it is corny and crap... I love it. Hee! It's a movie my friends and I used to love watching... they drooled over the boy and I drooled over Elisa Dushku!!! n fact they had to force me to watch it because I didn't watch to watch it because I thought it was going to be crap!
They even got me a cheerleader barbie for my birthday that's now much I love the movie and how cool my friends are... who would have guessed it was my 25th birthday!!
I even know all the cheers and dance moves... uni rocked!!!!!
I love the video in my profile: I ♥ Shane & Carmen!
Bring It On
How did I forget that one? Especially since I have the version that has the cheer sing-a-longs at the end. I'm serious. It has the words and this little ball that bounces over them when it's time for you to say it. It's like Bring It On karaoke, not that I didn't know all the words from the 1,93478 times that I've watched it. Also, for Eliza Dushku, haha.
Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
Ha, ha... yeah it
Ha, ha... yeah it rocks!!
Wow, such a classic movie - I can't believe I was willing to hate it before I saw it!
I love the video in my profile: I ♥ Shane & Carmen!
If Only....
If only the sequels were as good, haha. I mean granted I've watched them all, let's be honest, but they don't quite live up to the original. But I may have an Eliza Dushku bias ;)
Set me free, leave me be. I don't want to fall another moment into your gravity.
I haven't seen the sequels
I haven't seen the sequels just because nothing can beat the original BIO movie... NOTHING!!!

One more!
Ooo... looked through my movie collect (quiet big I hasten to add!) and my heart melted away when I saw a movie I forgot I loved to cry over and over and over and over and over to.
The Notebook
DAMN... I L.O.V.E that movie <- never has a movie made me cry like this movie and never has a movie made my heart melt just by looking at it's name in my collection.
That's the power of an immensely awesome movie ladies!!
I love the video in my profile: I ♥ Shane & Carmen!
Showgirls
I always watch it when its on TV
Its so bad, I know that, but its so nice to immerse yourself in somethin so...lame.
I think its because i'm a film student. I spend so much time watching really random serious pieces of cinema, I have to watch something bad just to balance it out.
Movies
I love musicals!
Sister Act 1&2, The Wiz, Rent, the list goes on though I think I may take the cake with: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Little Women (the 1949 version)
Hocus Pocus
Animated Disney movies, you name it I know the songs, the characters, etc.
I'll stop as I think I've embarrassed myself enough now, tee-hee!

^^^ WOW!
Did you just read my mind???!!! Seriously, I LOVE every film you mentioned! I loved that version of Little Women. June Allyson was amazing as Jo. I'm sure Jo was gay really!! I have to admit that I watched that on more than one occasion growing up, and I now have the dvd...!
Love Disney - animation and movies like Hocus Pocus and The Parent Trap (both versions), and I ADORE musicals, from RENT to all the Judy Garland and Fred and Ginger movies - perfect on a rainy sunday afternoon!
One of my favourites (and I'm not ashamed!!) has to be Some Like it Hot - Marilyn Monroe with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon dressed as women to escape from the mob. Excellent! If you haven't seen it, you should give it a go.
*High Five*
Great minds think alike! I watched that version of Little Women so many times I've lost count and I secretly had a crush on June Allyson and Elizabeth Taylor. My mom has it on VHS, I need to add that DVD to my collection.
I don't think I've seen "Some Like it Hot", but I will surely check it out. :D

I'll admit my guilty viewing pleasures...
Starship Troopers. It's craptastic.
Die Hard 4.0. Sometimes I just want a movie where stuff blows up from beginning to end.
SWAT. Same reason as Die Hard, plus added bonus of Michelle Rodriguez. Also, I'm a huge stalker of Samuel L Jackson.
Twilight
I don't want to admit this to all the series' readers, but I secretly really liked this movie...

"Winchell, I've got exactly ten minutes to find my parents and if you don't tell me where they are, I'll show you how the summer's broadened me, you little a**hole!"
HAHAHA! I think it's funny to me because I don't expect such profanities to come out of such a cute little kid like Elijah Wood.
National Treasure
Never Back Down.WHHYYYYY?
Never Back Down.WHHYYYYY? I'm so ashamed of myself. I finally gave in and bought it the other day because the video store was having a buy 2 get 2 sale. and i had loved it in theaters. I was pretty sick at myself for watching it the other day and wanting to watch it again as soon as I had finished.
But besides that I have a whole collection with crap in it, that I LOVE. I don't always have to think a films is "good". Sometimes I just want to be entertained.
