Life On Mars meets Jane Austen

The TV listings magazines published today in the UK have
details of the new shows coming in the autumn. Among these
is Lost In Austen starring Jemima Rooper (the lesbian ghost
in Hex) and featuring Alex Kingston (E.R., Boudicca, Doctor
Who
) and Gemma Arterton (St. Trinian's head girl). To quote
the Radio Times:

"While mulling over her dissatisfaction with London Life,
Amanda Price (Jemima Rooper) makes a strange discovery in
her bathroom - Elizabeth Bennet! Via a door-shaped portal,
Amanda swaps places with Lizzie, arriving at Longbourn at
the start of literature's greatest love stories."

Sounds like it could be fun.

I'm So There

I am all over this!  It's like they asked me what I wanted to watch this Fall.

Thanks for the tip off!

Gemma Arterton

Reading further, it seems that Arterton will be playing Elizabeth Bennett, which means that hers won't be a small part. So I guess we'll be seeing a fair bit of Liz in modern London, which is sure to induce some serious future shock. Becky Sharpe might take it in her stride, but Elizabeth Bennett...?

Wow, sooner than I expected!

It turns out this show is airing sooner than I thought. It starts  on UK TV on Wednesday 3rd Sept on ITV 1 at 9pm and runs for four weeks.

caroline bingley gay? haha i

caroline bingley gay? haha i never saw that one coming (extremely hot though), must of been a laugh for Jemima Rooper and Christina Cole doing a complete 360 from when they were both in Hex.  I have to say this series is quite enjoyable, i think it is fantastic that it pushes the whole story to a completely different level, although i guess some people wont be very happy that the story was 'tampered'.

loved it...

I really loved this series- well episodes....after all Jemima Rooper and Gemma Arterton in one show! Who could ask for more....saying that it was a shame that they didnt make the series longer, getting to show more of Elizabeths attempt in modern day london. Ah well, worth while watch.
