Gabrielle Union Wants To Play A Real Lesbian

Just wanted to share something I read in the June/July issue of Men's Fitness Magazine (it's not mine, I swear.  I'm just holding it for a friend.)  

 

Men's Fitness: "There's a rumor floating around that you wouldn't mind a girl-on-girl love scene.  Please elaborate!"

 

Gabrielle Union: "I've been trying for years [Laughs]!  I've played a lesbian like three times and I've been the most asexual lesbian in history.  I wouldn't sign up for that experience if I wasn't ready for every aspect of that character.  When you sign up to play a character, you sign up to play every aspect of that character's life.  And if she's going to have a love interest, what's the point of having two gay characters if you don't get to see them for who they are.  If that means kissing, making out, or making love, let's show it!"

 

Yeah, let's show it!  You can sign me up for that, too.

I remember reading about a movie a couple years ago in which she would play the love interest of a younger version of the female lead character.

Hmm that's actually the only lesbian role of hers I know about. Maybe the other two are in development or indie films I don't know about. But I appreciate her saying that cause alot of actors play it safe with the "non-sexual" gay roles just to add "homosexual character" to the resume....like it's an image thing...that requires no extra effort in any way.

and this just cements that love.  She's so smart and beautiful and excited to play a lesbian with sex scenes....what more can I ask of an actress?  Not a thing!  

This confirms that we think alike, which is almost as exciting, but not really at all. :)  Why isn't anyone taking her up on this?  If I was wealthy I would make this happen immediately.

Love the idea and also if Kerry Washington comes out saying something like that, specifically though in response to Gabrielle and offer up her self to play Unions love interest then I would no longer question the existence of God or maybe just up until the movie is released on DVD.

That's all i needed to read tonight. I can probably go the next week without internet. What other lesbian characters has she played and where the hell have I been that I didn't know about them? Anyway. Whatever this movie may be...and whoever she may be dykin it up with *pagin Rosario Dawson* I'll be front and damn center watchin the action.
