Safe in Barcelona-Night-Life?

How do I stay safe in the Barcelona-Night-Life? Me and one of my staight girlfriends are going to Barcelona in a couple of weeks and have desided to go to straight and lesbian night clubs. But is there any way we can avoid getting into trouble? Any places to avoid? Any way we can behave or dress, so we won't be in danger?
