Good call! Now, the 30's are good years, but the 40s seriously rock!
Although a Rocky Horror cult classic, Susan Sarandon became a sex symbol (Bull Durham) and was nominated for 4 oscars--winning one--in her 40s. Cher won her oscar at 41, and Babs at 41 was the first woman to write, direct, star in and produce a modern feature film (Yentl). Tina Turner came back with Private Dancer at 44 and Cheryl Crow came back with Soak up the Sun at 40. Martina Navratilova came back with a grand slam title at 46. And Bette Middler got her wind back at 43 with Beaches.
Harriet Beecher Stowe penned Uncle Tom's Cabin in her 40s. At 40, Mother Theresa quit teaching HS and started her own order, The Missionaries of Charity in India.
...a stunning 41-year-old. Heck, Julia Child didn't even decide to be a chef until she was 38...
This website seems to be skewing younger of late and the more adult commentary is sorely missed--come back ladies and represent! Life is just fine up here in the forties...
My favourite number is 3 so being 33 now is great! it makes me laugh when the teens or early 20s say that 30 somethings are old...I still feel 19/20 I just know more stuff now. I'm still wishing about what I'll be when I 'grow up'! when i was their age I thought 30 was soooo old...geez things change.
Life is good in my 30's. I could have done a little more self-exploration in my 20's though to save me some hassle in my 30's but guess the time just wasn't right.
I am enjoying my 30's because I'm starting to actually like myself - what a concept! (lol) and beginning to become more brave to be me - although, because of circumstances, that one is a little touch and go in the gay department (lol). Had it not been for my particular situation, I really wouldn't care anymore who knows the "real me" and even with my situation, I care less each day and feel more self-assured to just be me.
36 here...and I am about to be thrust back out into the dating world as we have reached the end of a 14 year relationship(it was mutual nothing bad..just grew apart)...kinda looking forward to it and kinda not.
I also found that in the new chat..I am the older woman..when did that happen..when did I become old? LOL
Is that what you're calling me? You don't really want to drink a cupful of my anger. At 36, is it time for a little collagen; a little plumping? Perhaps. Old? Anyone using that word on this thread is a miserable little turnip.
I didn't say i felt old..I found that amongst the "younger" crowd I was referred to as the "older woman"
I still get carded...no need for collagen and plumping..that shit is gross anyway. Nothing more unattractive than a inflated upper lip..YOU HEAR ME MEG RYAN and MARY MCCORMICK!!!
So..no feeling old here..just an observation of a perception.
... then I turn 40. So I might as well post now, the clock is ticking. I want to know what happened to my 30s. I was 27 then suddenly 39, WTF. After I turn 40 I will pop back and let you know how it is.
I'm a little over half way through my first year in the 30+ box. Does that count, or should I come back after I've made the first year? ; ]
For some strange reason it didn't bother me to leave my 20's behind (maybe because of all of my friends are closer to 40), and honestly I would never want to go through them again!
Fun club to be a member of.
Any road is a good road when you don't know where you're going.
I'm in my 20s at the moment and there is no way I think women 30 and above are old. I think they're way hotter than women in their 20s. If only they would be less hesitant in dating someone in their early 20s, my life would be great.
No probs Pat. Life truly does begin at 30 and above. There is no way you should even be thinking about booking into Betty Ford. I mean I know 20 yr olds getting nose jobs or breast augmentation and I think that's crazy.
BTW, would you contemplate dating someone in their 20s if they connected with you really well? I've had crushes on 30 something women in real life but never told them. So just want to know what the chances of rejection are.
There isn't a woman on this thread who hasn't been to Morocco for some easy going sex with gorgeous underage youths. They'll pull a face rather than admit to it, darling. Women in their twenties are nothing short of perfection. They're goddesses. Rejection isn't a concern.
I was in my 20's when I met my partner, who was in her 30's at the time. Now I am in my 30's and she is in her 40's and I am still very much attracted to her. I love older women!
39 and I feel great, sometimes I don't understand where the years went, but then I think about the rubbish I went through in my teens and twenties and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Now I'm sorted, a good life with a beautiful women by my side, a strong supportive family, and very much looking forward to turning 40.
The thing is..... When you don't expect it..... It hits twice as hard.....
I'm right at the 35 mark and since recently coming to terms with my sexual identity, I feel like a new person. Actually I really agree with a previous comment about the 30s as being a time of discovering your true self and establishing oneself. In my twenties I just felt wild about the world and discovering the world! Every period of life is a process and who we are or become now is all part of what we've experienced in the past. I'm just really glad and happy about who I am now.
People often mistake me for being in my mid twenties, or even younger (the best one was around Xmas 2007 when I wanted to buy a lottery ticket and was asked if I was already over 18, lol) which is somewhat flatterin...I most certainly don't feel like in my thirties! Kind of strange, but the older I get, the younger I feel (with the added maturity from the years before though...kind of conflicting, I know).

I really like what you said here. It's true, actually with time and maturity you realize a lot of things you probably never thought about before and sometimes it makes you feel even more fresh and certain about yourself.
I seem to be late to this thread but wanted to post to say how much I appreciate the over 30 thread. I was beginning to think I was the oldest lesbian visiting AE. Cheers to all the beautiful ladies over 30! I agree with many of the posts about feeling more comfortable with myself in my 30s.
In my pic I may look ten years younger. But I'm 31. Even though a part of me which I was still 28 or 29. I,too, wouldn't want to go back in my tweneties especially my early twenties. Too many people tryin' to tell you how to run your life. In you're 30s your're smarter and hotter. You can safely and proudly tell them F off and they will. You're right I think 40s is an adult's prime. People look better as they age,the defintion of looks are filled out more. Especially womyn. During their 30s and 40s if they aren't heavy drinkers or smokers or over/under eaters womyn will begin to look hot and more definant. So many womyn ,especially among Afican-American womyn, who take care of themselves look so hot in their 50s. I'm tellin ya. It's amazing. I defintely want to look hot in my fifities.
Glad over 30 forum was created. Right on! 30s and 40s rock!
This is the first year I haven't got stressed about aging. Turning 30 freaked me out for months and made me analyse everything in my life as in "Am I on the right track?" "Have I done all I am supposed to have done by this age?" Not to blow my own trumpet but most people still say I look about 5 years younger than I am which places me back into my late 20s. But that's not always a good thing. I'm at peace with being 30-something, it's a great age! But then I'll probably say the same about being 40 when I get to that milestone too.... ;p
Just enjoy life :D It's too short to not be doing that.... I shall then officially welcome you to the club of hawties (aka ladies in their thirties..) .. I mean.. not that you aren't hawt already.. but then it's indeed official since you passed the recommended age mark lol ;D

Where the hell have my 20s gone?
Gawd, this thread makes me feel old.
Even though I do not always get them, I think all these 16 year olds on this site are great. I mean, I wish I'd been that out-and-proud at 16.

Hello everybody,
just popping in to say "Hi" :)
I'm 31, and 32 in Nov (scary).

Exactly
I thought I knew everything in my 20s. I thought I was in my prime. Now at 34, I wouldn't go back for anything!
