News, Reviews & Commentary on Lesbian and Bisexual women in Entertainment and the Media

Anyone out there reading The Hollows series by Kim Harrison?

One of my favorite series, I found it last year, and the first five books were already out. That is always great to find a new series or trilogy that has been out for a while, but is new to you. I am  not a patient person, and waiting for the next book in any series sucks.  Between Rachel the witch  kicking ass, and Ivy the  bi / lesbian vamp pining  over her, it  is one of the best urban fantasy series around.

Love, love, love it

I love this book series. I haven't had the chance to read "The Outlaw Demon Wails" yet but I know it will probably be great. I was rather sad that Kisten is gone, but it is really exciting to see if that will allow the Rachel and Ivy relationship to open up!!! That would be completely fabulous!!! I would love for the two of them to get together!!! Question... does any one else wonder what the difference between male witches and male humans is? She brings it up a lot but never really says what it is. Any guesses?

Hooked

I was recommended these books by a friend and am now hooked. The problem is when you have finished reading the ones that are already released you them have to wait for the new ones to come out which is torture.

I love the relationship between Ivy and Rachel and how it has developed and I also love how the character of Ivy can be so vulnerable one minute but so seductive the next. I'd love to see the two characters together but I hope it doesn't happen until the end of the series as Kim Harrison has said that the book series will end when Rachel is happy, which will mean if they hook up before the end of the series they are likely to break up again.

I also can't believe that most straight people want Rachel and Trent to get together. Are they mad, not only is Trent slime but the two characters hate each other and there is no chemistry.

@ cgalela the only difference that has been mentioned between witch and human men is that human men can't get witches pregnant (it's mentioned when Rachel is with Nick) apart from that I don't really know.

to continue

To Quirky Koala there is a little more difference than just they can't get witches pregnant. When Rachel is taking the ley line class a couple of her classmates ask her if it's true about human men but they never say exactly what they are refering to. As far as Rachel getting with trent I agree that it would be incredibly dissapointing if that were to happen. I think that Ivy and Rachel would be a much better match. There is already so much chemistry there. If Rachel would just quit fighting against her attraction to Ivy and let it happen. I'm sure that Ivy could teach Rachel a thing or two ;oD

Rachel/Trent WTF?

I agree, the hollows board is rife with Trent /Rachel shippers too.  And the moderator despises Ivy. I do like it though because as has been said, Kim is really cool about replying to questions although she doesn't give any spoilers. While I wait for the next book, called White witch, Black Curse I'm  sure I will read and re-read the others.
