Summer Destinations

What are the details on your summer getaway? Where are most people headed to - the beach and night club scene, the wilderness and camping/ climbing?

looks like Nantucket and Massachusetts for our crew. Hitting up the Carnival in P-Town?

I can't wait for summer. I will be going to the beach for a family reunion. Oh what fun *rolls eyes* what with kids running wild and conservative homophobic cousins it should all be fun. Though I plan on hitting up some nightclubs that should be fun.

Screw the beach I just wanna dance at a club. Plus sand gets everywhere.

Other than that I will be working my summer away until I go to college in the fall.

Montreal!

I JUST finished with Grad school. Out of all places, I chose to study in Georgia (and nope, not Atlanta... like Jenn and Dee said: there's Atlanta, then there's Georgia). Great school, but it was very hard for me to adjust to...  hmm... shall I politely say the slightly more conservative views here (that border on fanaticism). Anyway, in exactly a month, I'm going back to Montreal and I can't wait. So this is what summer is going to look like for me: back to my homeland, back to a big open-minded city, in my "quartier gai", city lights all night long, great nightlife, great walks with friends where I actually feel safe. Great outdoor festivals, great firework shows, great queer events. Best of all, what I haven't been close to for over a year and a half: French, family, and old friends (with an involuntary alliteration to conclude this)!

Nonstop Summer Vacation

Well, first I'm heading back to Maine for a few weeks, and I'm thinking about dropping by Nova Scotia for a couple of days, just for the hell of it. Then I'm going to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina for a week to hang out on the beach and read (I miss reading literature, text books/peer reviewed journals just don't cut it). On my way back up to Maine I'm stopping back in Washington, DC for a couple of days, and once I get back to Maine I'll have just about enough time to unpack my suitcase, and repack my backpack before jumping on a plane headed for South Africa. This will be followed by a three week romp in Botswana, just chillaxing with the animals. Then I'm stopping by London for a few days to visit with my sister. Finally, I will return home, and probably sleep until I have to head back to DC for school in the fall. I just finished my last final exam of the semester yesterday, and I'm ready to get out of the city for while. Although I just love getting awoken at 2:30 in the morning by drunk people getting into yelling matches outside my apartment, I'm really going to enjoy the languidness of summer outside of the bustling city.
