afterellen girls as golden age movie stars

This is my first time, so be gentle.

I'm a huge black and white movie fan and so as I was watching a couple of said genre I started thinking about which of the AE girls would be which golden age movie star.  This is what I came up with, what do you think.

Jill Bennett - Irene Dunne

Bridget - Rosalind Russell

Karmen - June Allyson

Cathy DeBuono - Garbo

Jenn - Lena Horne

Dee - Carmen Jones

Dara - Thelma Ritter

We're Getting Golden

Oooh--this is a good one! Perhaps the gals in the remake of "The Women"? Or "Stage Door"? Be still my heart...

This is what I have so far-- Jill is totally Eve Arden to me. The wise-cracking, hard-boiled sidekick--she's at her best when she's doing comedy. I have to agree with you that Bridget is Rosalind Russell--I couldn't come up with a better match than that! Karman would be Ginger Rogers--the cracking wise one, not the dancing Ginger (although maybe Karman can dance, too).

I'm torn about Cathy and Dara -- the perfect matches would be men. Cathy to me is very Cary Grant--handsome, funny, athletic and sophisticated, but I also see her as Kate Hepburn for the same reasons. Dara (although your choice of Thelma Ritter is perfect) I see as Jack Lemmon--he was tail-end of B&W but some of his best stuff was his earliest. A lot of intelligence behind his humorous facade--my female choice would be Judy Holiday for the same...

 More to come...

Golden oldies

I love the idea of Cathy as Kate Hepburn and Cary Grant, also some sexier wilder males like Robert Mitchum.  She would be the perfect Steve McQueen, but he's a little later then the golden age.

Dara as Judy Holiday is perfect, I like that.
