An Unexpected Love

I dont know if this was posted already but I went thru the 5 pages and didnt see it...so I thought I would start one. Feel free to put this anywhere if so.

I saw this movie on Lifetime last night. And I read the review Afterellen gave it. I happened to love this movie. And I am sad to see there isnt another air date in the future on lifetime for it. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this, and if so...does anyone have a copy or know where I can get a copy? Thanks.

I watched it

I watched this film,it was nice, not brilliant though :) I liked the boss woman :P I don't know if it's only me but when I started watching "An unexpected love" I thought it was a film from 90's lol so when I read it was from 2003 I was surprised.

Btw,good luck with finding the copy of this one :)

AfterEllen visitors may want to watch this one:  An Unexpected Love, from 2003, a made-for-cable movie starring Wendy Crewson, playing this Sunday morning on Lifetime Movies.

Crewson plays a lesbian real estate agent mourning her deceased lover.  She finds love again when her new employee, a housewife in mid-divorce, falls hard for her.  Of course, complications ensue:  coming out, telling the kids, a rigid grandmother, a pissed off husband, but things end up in a way that will please lesbian viewers.  Sometimes, there is a note of Afterschool Special for adults, but Crewson's performance makes it compelling and worthwhile.  There are a couple kissing scenes and one "sex" scene, which is limited due to basic cable standards.  Again, Crewson conveys more heat than you'd expect in a love scene where the camera shoots from only the naked shoulders up.  (Isn't it cool how lesbians seem able to have orgasms just by hugging and tongue-less kissing?!?!)  At worst, you'll get to see Wendy Crewson making black pantsuits look pretty sexy.

Unexpected Love on I-Tunes

I know this doesn't help folks who can't access US I-Tunes (sorry), but if for folks who can-- it is available for download on the Lifetime Movies section (go to TV Shows, select Lifetime and then their made for TV movies, ie: Lifetime Classics.)  It's $3.99 US.  I watched it during a plane ride last month and it had me in stitches!  There are parts of it that are so heavy-handed, afterschool special, made-for-TV-morality-play-- that I just have to giggle.  But the best reason to own it is: Mac fashions.  They don't call her Mac for nuthin'.  She's all that and a bag of crisps.

An Unexpected Love

Ok so a whole lot of views and no replies...hmmm...well I hope this one works. On www.lifetimetv.com they have a message board and ask what movies we would like to see on dvd. I think if all of us here at afterellen went there and posted we want to see An Unexpected Love on dvd...we may get lucky.......what do you think? We could just bombard the board. It would be great! :D

An Unexpected Love

This movie also aired in the UK late last night, on the Hallmark channel. On the whole, I enjoyed it. But I agree with some of the criticisms raised in the AE review. It tried to take on too much and the second half of the film - the coming out part - was too rushed. And it was at the expense of developing the relationship.

Definitely worth watching though. And sorry - don't know where you can get hold of a copy.

PANTS!! Something half decent was on Hallmark for a change and I missed it. Typical. No doubt it will be on again...will keep my eyes peeled for it.

An Unexpected Love

I enjoyed this movie enough but it did feel a bit rushed there was just too much talking and too much of EVERYONE trying to talk about their feelings. And a bunch of stupid one-liner jokes and sarcasm.

And if I had to hear "it's not about you" ONE more time! :bringit: Every character in the movie said it at least once.

I saw it on Hallmark as well. Bit clunky in places, felt like they tried to jam too much in. Wendy Crewson (the boss) was pretty good though.
