Excellent concerts coming to Asheville, North CarolinaHey, I just wanted to let people know that some of the artists talked about on here will be in the North Carolina area, for all those on this site who live in that state. As for me, I'm from SC but still close enough to drive for a couple hours of sitting back and listening to good music. Kathleen Edwards will be at the Grey Eagle on April 16th. Ingrid Michaelson will be at the Orange Peel on May 2nd Missy Higgins will also be at the Orange Peel on May 3rd, which happens to be the same day I graduate, in the morning, so I think this might just be a graduation present for myself. Hope this comes as good news to some of you. As someone from the South who often becomes jealous of the concert venus on the West Coast, I was delighted to see these names so close.

Missed one
I skipped over the band Over the Rhine, good stuff, who will be at the Orange Peel on May 30th.
The grass may be greener on the other side, but you still have to mow it.
Awesome, thanks for posting
Thanks for the info ...
You are correct in that Chapel Hill is a few hours drive from Asheville -- somewhere around 4 hrs or so.
Durham and Chapel Hill also have a great music scene. In November, you should definitely check out the Troika Music Festival in Durham. http://www.troikamusicfestival.org/
Great, I totally will, thank
One more thing ...
If you're really into music, I'd definitely check out the Independent Weekly. It comes out on Wednesday and not only covers all music happenings in the Triangle for the week, but also everything else going on in town. http://www.indyweek.com It's a great resource for the music scene.
But back to the original post, not sure I'll make it to the Asheville show for Missy Higgins. Unfortunately, it's looking like I'm going to have to try for the one in Atlanta on May 6th.
Asheville
