5 worst episodes of The L WordI was outraged by the last episode of the 5th season of TLW. It literally was lazy, anti climatic, unsexy and just, ugh. If it wasnt for Helena I would've turned. It was so bad it made my "5 Worst Episodes of The L Word." In the spirit of Dara's Best and Worst of the L word, here are my top 5 worst eps of the show we love to hate but still continue to watch. (and I can rant damnit, I'm a loyal fan) #1 Ep 3.10 "Losing the Light"
I mean, do I even need to go there? Conspiracy theory. Watch what you say on your show's dvd commentaries! You might get breast cancer and die......alone....with blue lips and a head from Alien Nation #2 One of the episodes of season 4
Hmm, so many to chose from!
#3 Ep 3.12 Left Hand of the Goddess Still was suffering from too much brain damage, to care about this episode #4 Ep 5.11 Lunar Cycle
To me, this one had that not so fresh feeling written all over it.....pun intended #5 Ep 5.12 Loyal and True
Loyal and True. Yeah, anything but. Someone hang me ova the cliff with the never ending cliffhangers... Comments? Submitted by shedetective (130 posts) on March 25, 2008 - 3:32am. |

Just five?
I can't cut my list down. First of all, there's the entire of season 3....
Not Only But Also
*S* i agree.........who's
Season 4 was the worst. God
Season 4 was the worst. God awful. I liked season 3 just cuz Sarah Shahi blessed us with her presence. Droll.
:D
I nominate Season 4, Episode 4
This is by far the worst L Word episode.
1. Guess who wrote it? EZgirl. I'm just saying, be prepared.
2. Summary: Phyllis and Alice get it on. Boring. Then Papi challenged Alice to a basketball game and it was incredibly lame. Paige meets Shane, Brooke dumps Max, the plot creaks along on the dull storylines of Jenny-Sounder, Bette-Nadia, Bette-Jodi. Keep in mind, the WHOLE time there is some of the worst dialogue I have ever heard on this show.
3. The basketball game. Tina shows up to play and she gets shut out by her own friends. Jenny tells her off for enjoying "heterosexual privilege" (I think this is 100% out of character for someone who, a season earlier, dated a transman and told him she hadn't completely discounted dating a straight man again.) Then, of all the most idiotic things, Tina says she's still a lesbian and that she views it as a "political identity", which also seemed ridiculous. Why would she defend herself in that fashion? More to the point, why would the L Word go out there to make the statement that a bisexual character is in denial and also needs to be attacked for her sexuality, by her own friends, particularly friends who themselves have identified as bisexuals? Why would these women not be aware of the many queer women who don't define themselves strictly by the labels lesbian or bisexual? Then there's the absolutely crude metaphor of forcing Tina to play for another team from her friends. Could you lay it on any thicker? There are some cute moments in the basketball game itself - Jenny's ridiculous sunglasses and coffee - but the whole thing was so ugly. Including, at one point, Bette calling Papi "Carmelita Tropicana".
After watching this episode, I was disgusted. The characters were like different people. The show was all too in-character with its biphobia. I actually didn't watch the rest of the season until just recently, in November - I broke up with the show because of this episode.
i would agree. but idk.
i would agree.
but idk. this person nominated lunar cycle. i think liquid heat was the worst episode of season 5. It was stupid
Could season 3 count as
Worst Episode...
Any episode with Papi in it.
_________
Season 3 and 4
I have to agree with you on
I have to agree with you on this one. I didn't like seasons 3 and 4, and it was mostly because Bette and Tina weren't together. I tried to keep an open mind with the Bette and Jodie thing but it just didn't fly with me. Plus there was way too much drama and sadness.
totally agree
definitely the episode
definitely the episode where shane slept with the bridesmaids and the mother.
totally and utterly wack.
I'll try and narrow in down a bit
1. 3.10 Losing the Light (you are my sunshine? ugh!)
2. 2.13 Depressing. the funeral turned PSA. it seemed like a semi ending even though it wasn't. ehh.
3. 3.3 Lobster ..the awkwardness of Moira meeting everyone. Bette and Tina arguing over money (tragic anytime), the start of the Dana storyline...more of alice on that radio show.
4. 3.7 Lone Star.. Tina with the dude on set in Vancouver. Dana suffering and being a complete bitch to lara.
5. 4.2 Livin' la vida loca...the riduculousness that was Papi.
Since I HADto choose b/t all that was season 3...the 3 above were the worst. There are probably 1-2 episodes in that season that I sorta liked. They were probably redeemed b/c of some sex scene dylan/helena, shane/cheri, and so on...
Mostly I chose the 5 listed above by recalling which eps I can never rewatch when I have mini marathons.
Wow
I agree with all of those
----
You're Everywhere to me.
i hate losing the light
Last dance - what a
Last dance - what a dissapointing send-off, the groups scenes were painfully forced. The best bits were the flashbacks - and that was because of Erin Daniels. Dammit.
"Hatred is blind, as well as love." - Oscar Wilde
The entirety of Season 3
The entirety of Season 3 counts as one big episode I say. Though I adored the small Dana/Lara moments we were allowed, the way Dana treated Lara once again like crap killed all the good stuff for me along with the characer herself.
I won't include ALL of Season 4, because towards the end it picked up a little bit. Mostly because Tina stopped acting like a pod person and started turning herself around into the Tina I've always loved.
I loved most, if not all of Season 5, but the low point was 503. Lady of the Lake I think it was called? Way too much Jodie for my tastes.
S3=nausea
All of season three totally sucked. The only redeeming scene was Bette with senator Barbara, and even that came up short, as I SO wanted to see them get it on, but alas, it didn't happen. Just one more reason S3 blew. I remember reading an interview with IC prior to the start of S3 about how the show was back on track after what she termed a disappointing S2! Ah, memories...
Have to disagree with the popular sentiment here and say I didn't think S4 was all that bad. Not great, but a huge improvement over the S3 suckfest. This season was the best since S1, though there were a couple of pretty bad episodes. Lesbians Gone Wild with the interminable Turkish oil wrestling scene? Ugh. Really bad. And of course, the craptastic finale. The biggest WTF of any season goes to Shane for making out with Niki. Shane has always been a lousy girlfriend, but a loyal platonic friend. So why was she making out with Niki when she knows Jenny, supposedly her BFF, is in love with her?
WTF Shane???
s3=sucked
I no what ur talking about with shane at the finale of s4.
every fan of the Lword Knows that shane is loyal 2 her friends.. so why did they make her kiss nikki? It seems like when they have to fill up screen time they just make shane sleep with totally stupid characters..
Season 3 SUCKED BIG TIME. the only thing in the whole season i liked was the car chase between Alice and Dana.. haha im laughing thinking about it now. :D
I liked season 5 2bh esp. the Bette Tina Bits *hooot*
Also.. Sorry about the Rant Lol.. But, Alice. What was going on? Why would she cheat on tasha? because some really shy girl took her for a bike ride... Rrrright then..
I agree I season
Worst Plotlines
That straight guy videoing his room mates
Everything about Dana's death, then no Dana
Helena's dependance on Catherine--
Marina's departure-sorry she didn't work well with others but she sizzled---not enough sex in many episodes
Any guy in the movie seems straight except one--huh?
Agreement and a confession.......
All of season 2 and 3. And seeing Dana's face in the waterfall? What the hell was that?
ok I'm gonna stop my angry ranting and confess........ "Hi my name is Tori, and despite how much I may hate it, I'm an L Word addict"
lol
It's not a love/hate relationship, It's a like/hate relationship
The waterfall thing just
The waterfall thing just makes me laugh highly inappropriately - but then again wasn't that weird ghost scene from season 4 even more out of place?
And the road stretched on like an angry woman...
