Thanks for mentioning this,
Thanks for mentioning this, ysubassoon.
Immigration Equality mentioned this in their response so I'll keep it brief, but my main thought when I heard what this guy said was that he's being ridiculously narrow-mindedin his view. You're not just exporting "homosexuals" - you're exporting skilled workers, professionals, educated people and those who pay their fair share of taxes, and you're doing it disproportionately (i.e. you're not also losing some "bad apples" who are using government benefits and are unemployed).
Immigration laws in other countries are such that you can't get into those countries without having financial stability (savings account, stocks/bonds, etc) and being an educated person who could easily get a job in that country. So the U.S. is losing out on thousands of these people who would contribute to society because *gasp* we like to have consensual sex with women.
It's the typical conservative/religious viewpoint: gay people are only defined by who they have sex with, not whether they're pillars of their communities, awesome volunteers, or highly skilled professionals who could very well prop up the American economy.
True happiness, we are told, consists in getting out of one's self, but the point is not only to get out, you must stay out; and to stay out you must have some absorbing errand. -Henry James
