Bi-sexuality in Buffy Season 8

Sounds awesome to me, I'm sure there will an article on here about it soon. Is this the same girl who seemed to be in love with Buffy in Previous issue?

Buffy and Satsu are in bed together!? Why must the comic store be SO FAR AWAY!!! I cannot wait to get this issue.

Don't go crazy, Buffy's night with Satsu was a one-time thing only. I thought it was made clear in the story... For a "fling", I thought it was very well done, and also hilarious.

I have read both issue 12 and the NY Times article and nowhere does it state that it is a one night fling.  The issue shows Buffy really trying to process it.  Even Satsu is unsure of what Buffy is feeling and when Satsu goes to leave the bedroom, Buffy says she misunderstood her and please stay in bed with her.  The article has Whedon say it is not about Buffy turning gay nor is it about Buffy not being gay.  It is what it is and it seems Whedon is now far beyond having to explain to fans why or what the slayer does in bed.  It just happens that she has made love to the person that is in love with her and it is what it is.  Refreshing.

I'm ready for bi-sexual Buffy that is for sure.  After everything she has been through having an affair with a woman is about the least "out of character" thing she could do.  Although I think it will be just a fling for B, it will be fun to see how it changes the dynamics of her Willow relationship.  Also, I'm a huge Fuffy shipper so of course I love love love the fact that all the naysayers can't spout on and on about Buffy's hetero-ness.

No matter what happens in terms of the length of the relationship--one night or one year or eternal love--I am pleased to see that Buffy is open-minded enough to have responded to Satsu sexually.  I also love that Buffy expressed a bit of performance anxiety--realistic in these circumstances, even for the Slayer.  My hope is that Buffy and Satsu are sexually and emotionally involved for a while.  Then, as time moves on, maybe Satsu (as part of her character development) will fall for Willow (and vice-versa).  This would cause some tension between Buffy and Willow, but their friendship will pull them through.  Meanwhile, I just want to say thank you to Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard for bringing Buffy to this point in her life.  Opening this issue of the comic made my day, and it made me fall in love with the comic genre, which I'd never appreciated before.

I was SO happy when I read this issue! My two favorite things, Buffy and lesbians, all wrapped up into one. :)

Well, I'm definitely in the minority here but I've always been a Buffy/Willow shipper of sorts. I've always thought there couldn't be a more perfect choice for the gorgeous, strong, tough-as-steel yet kind slayer than the beautiful, intelligent and shy red-head. I've yet to begin my foray into the comic series but this is certainly an interesting development. Just like the rest of you ladies here, I'm excited about it too! But..

 

*Sigh* the irony of it all.. *Sigh Again*

Man, I can't wait to get my hand on some season 8 comics. I've been rewatching the series and remembering how much I effing loved Willow and even more, I forget how effing deep the Willow/Buffy friendship was even from the earliest days. Even despite her having this deep bond with Xander from childhood -- Willow and Buffy just loved each other. Willow... sigh... the only reason to watch Buffy. Even if she had never turned out to be a lesbian.

I mean, I don't really care about Buffy sleeping with a girl... I mean I do and I don't. What was funny is that the lines were so SMG's Buffy I could grin at them. I could tottally see Buffy doing that/saying that and it not being a bit out of character that it was so. I would love to see what happens when/if Willow finds out though. What will it all mean to their friendship? Will she resent Buffy for what Buffy currently thinks is purely a one-night stand/experimentation or will she respect her open mind? Like a few, I would also like to see Faith weigh in on this. Because, well, if anyone was sending flexible sexuality vibes from day one it was Faith. She seemed to be quite into Buffy - even when she hated her, hell she was once IN Buffy litterally if not sexually. Maybe that's why Joss didn't go there. There was nothing obviously gay about Willow before Tara and Buffy was the straightest of this straight girls up to this Season 8 comic. No one would be surprised to know Faith was bi. But with the things that Buffy's seen/done/experienced I don't find it surprising she fell into bed with this woman. I also am not surprised she would avoid hooking up with any of the girls she's cared about for years (Willow or Faith). I don't know where Buff's love life stands in season 8, but this is way better than her affair with her near rapist Spike. I always found that relationship way too sick based solely on that near rape scene. I never quite forgave that of him. I know he's a demon and all - that he should be respected for all the good he did do without having a soul forced into him, but still the personal violation of it was unnerving for me.

Oddly enough I really didn't care to much for the Faith/Buffy thing or the Willow/Buffy thing as romantic hook-ups, I was a Faith/Willow shipper from early season 3. The thing is I never "got" Willow and Kennedy either. It just never worked for me. Willow and Oz... tottally made sense. Willow and Tara... tottally made sense. Willow and Xander kinda made sense. But Kennedy seemed like a nice kid she should have patted on her head and sent on her way. Not only that, she seemed like a pale immitation of Faith anyway. But I got her being "rebound girl", I just didn't see deep future love there. I may be the weirdo here, but I was praying for a Willow/Faith hook up from the day Faith left Angel and showed up back in Sunnydale. Willow always seemed to be the one highly attunded to Faith's... well... sexualness. Not only that, Faith-in-Buffy called the whole Willow/Tara thing without needing it spelled out for her. I was disappointed Faith wasn't the slayer Willow finally hooked up with when she returned for the final season of the series (on TV). I soooooooooo wanted them to hook up and instead she ends up in bed with the stupid principal guy. Ugh! 

I Write And Read Fuffy Your Not A Werido I Also Have Written Faith And Willow I Get What Your Say. And Believe Me I Would Of Jumped Into The Tv And Ripped Her Off Wood (Stupid Principal Guy) But They Split Up In The Comics So I Was Doing My Happy Dance Lol. I Found It Funny About Satsu And Buffy Cuz Xander Walks In! He Must Be Thinking Another Girl I Crushed On Is Gay It Must Be Me Lol. Satsu Will Either Get Her HeartBroken Or Leave Or Will Get Killed Because That Is What Happens To All Of Buffys Partners Theres A Chain, Angel=Left Faith=Left (Oh Come On You All Knew Something Was Going On) Spike= Died And Then Didnt Go Back.

Josh has said that it was important for Buffy's character arch, I'm not sure what that means but is should be fun! Faith and Giles seem to be building there own Black Ops team, wouldn't it be interesting if this sets up more Faith/Buffy sexual tension?
