This week's New York Times Magazine features several female breakthrough performances from films in 2007, which include Ellen Page (Juno), Marion Cotilard (La vie en rose), Julie Christie (Away from her), Jennifer Jason Leigh (Margot at the wedding), Sienna Miller (Interview), Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone), Tang Wei (Lust, Caution).  

 

Apparently, there weren't too many female actors of color (in the states or in foreign films?) with notable performances to be mentioned in the list.  Lists are overrated...says the person writing this post.
