In an interview with XM Radio’s “The Ron & Fez Show” last week, Jeffrey Tambor, who played patriarch George Bluth Sr. on the cult sitcom Arrested Development, hinted that there might be a Bluth family reunion in the cards.
“In terms of Arrested Development,” he said, “I think I have good news - I think we’re going to make a movie. I talked to [executive producer] Ron Howard the other day, and he sort of hinted around that there’s a real push to get a movie made - of course, after the strike.”
Tambor went on to say that, should the project move forward, he’s definitely on board. “I said, without pausing, ‘I’m in.’ I loved doing that. And I know Jason [Bateman]’s on board too.”
Bateman, who played George’s son Michael, himself has confirmed as much. “I can confirm that a round of sniffing has started,” he says.
“Any talk is targeting a post-strike situation, of course. I think, as always, that it's a question of whether the people with the money are willing to give our leader, Mitch Hurwitz, what he deserves for his participation. And I can speak for the cast when I say our fingers are crossed.”
He can also speak for the millions of Arrested fans who were elated when the show was renewed for its third season, only to be cancelled once that season ended. So let’s all get our denim cutoffs and blue body paint ready, and hope that this film doesn’t end up with its titular condition.

YAY!!!!!
I am soo excited! I loved this show, and own all the seasons on DVD. I lament the fact that so many brilliant shows have been cancelled prematurely. So, the news of a possible Arrested Development movie makes me so happy.
