I listened to 'My December' in complete awe at how much I related to it. And for her fans that say the CD is about a terrible breakup with her ex-man, how did she manage to write a whole album about this dude but never use the words 'him' or 'he' in almost the entire album?
I first listened to the album wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt. I got through most of it thinking it wasn't that implausible that she could write so many songs without using a pronoun because that's easy to do when you know who you're talking about. However, when I hit the "I don't want to be proud/ I don't need to be fixed" lyrics in "Maybe," I lost my objectivity.
I hate speculating (it makes me feel like a horrible fan) and maybe we're all wrong but, if we're not, I hope she has the courage to come out before it leads to an even sadder album than My December. By the time I got to the end, I just wanted someone to give the poor girl a hug!
