News, Reviews & Commentary on Lesbian and Bisexual women in Entertainment and the Media

Funny Questionable Content comic!

Not bisexual myself, but I found today's comic hysterical. It also shares the plight of bisexual stereotyping to a more mainstream (ok, straight) audience, and points out that it only comes from a very small section of the bisexual community.

Questionable Content is queer friendly, with the main character's girlfriend's ambigious sexuality (stemming from her clear admiration of the female form) and out lesbian sister of the female central character. Her appearance in the comic was brief but memorable.

The exciting part of this is that the comic is penned by a straight man. Jeff Jacques treats homosexuality not as a titular or "other," but equal to other social or personal issues. Meaning he pokes fun mercilessly at it.

Questionable Content

Dora's (i.e. the main character's girlfirend) sexuality just got more or less confirmed as bisexual (though it was pretty strongly implied before).

I love QC too. I agree that it's really queer friendly. I especially like Tia, Marten's "tiny butch" boss.

YAY!!! QUESTIONABLE CONTENT!!!

I'm totally addicted to the strip and though at first I was rooting for Marten to dump Dora and go try to get Faye (so that Dora could go back to women), I now think that actually I would rather see some other lesbian pairings like...

Hannelore/ Faye's sister

Pennelope (aka Pizza Girl) / Faye !!!!

Dora / Steve's girlfriend (can't remember her name now)

Faye's sister / Raven

I would also like to see more of the implied College Dyke Drama with Thai's friends. But it woyld be nice to see some gay characters too (I think the only male gay character was marten's ex-boss when he was working as an "office bitch").

I doo agree that the way Jeff Jacques deals with sexuality is very inclusive of all tendencies, but it just shows he's a straight guy when the portrayal is practically exclusively female.

Marten has lots of female friends and only one male friend. Maybe it's time he befriended a bear or something!

OTHER WEBCOMICS...

Btw... I'm also addicted to SCARY GO ROUND and DIESEL SWEETIES!

If you like witty lines and endless pulp-trash-geek-indie references you should totaly read them.

Plus, in Diesel Sweeties there is one open lesbian (Eve) and a couple bisexuals (Otakate and Lil' sis).
