Did anyone else catch the special screening of Razor in one of ten cities tonight?  I did and for fans of the show it's a fraktastic poetic addition to the overall series.  It was like watching a puzzle piece snap into place.

For those who didn't see it - NO SPOILERS I PROMISE....THERE IS CERTAINLY SUBTEXT (on a few levels)! And in one case actual text that discusses what we don't get to see where Admiral Kane and Gena are concerned.

Sadly a big chunk of Admiral Kane's backstory did hit the cutting room floor.  Although I am not entirely sure, other than one moment I am sure once existed and didn't make it, that the backstory was needed.  

There is still hope that part of the story will be told however.  We were shown a preview of the unrated extended version DVD (out in December) that implies a longer look back at Admiral Kane and how she became the woman we met on BSG.

On a side note - I brought a friend who had never seen BSG - and when it was over told me that they got it 90% having never seen it.  Now they want to start from the beginning to see the whole thing.  So for anyone looking to convert someone into a BSG fan this might be the episode to do it with.
