"Heartless" starring Simone Lahbib! ...being GORGEOUS!

So, I just stayed up far later than I should have to watch the made for TV movie "Heartless" with Simone Lahbib as one of the main characters.

The movies about a well off, British, bachelor, divorce lawyer who sleeps with a new girl every night (he definitely wasn't my reason for staying up).  Anyway, while fighting a case in court he has a heart attack and receives a heart transplant.  The heart that he happens to get is from a Scottish man who died in a car accident (you see how Simone is now in this).  He starts having these crazy flashes of another person's life - what he thinks is the man's who's heart he now has.  Blah, blah, blah...

With the knowledge of where the man was from he heads up to a small town in Scotland, where he stays in a small "bed and breakfast" in the house of Simone Lahbib's character Amanda and her two kids (OH MY GOD, this is where I start paying more attention).  The lawyer soon finds out that the man who's heart he's now sporting was Amanda's late husband.  The story then progresses from there with a lot of screen time devoted to Simone, which is glorious.

It's a very cute romantic-comedy type movie, but the reason why I watched it was because of Simone.  Even though the movie wasn't in any way Emmy material, she was fantastic as usual.  She was gorgeous, beautiful, sexy, hot, and any other word that one can think of, but most of all she was sooo cute! So cute! So cute! Did I say she was so cute?  'Cause she was.

Please, please, please watch it if you can find it, because I couldn't stop smiling the whole time, and parts of the movie were kind of depressing.  Even when she was angry or sad...so cute.

I'll probably watch it again very soon.

Ha my wife will flip

She loves Simone Lahbib.  She's also going to get me into "Bad Girls" finally because I've never seen it.  I've heard of it, but because of the hype, it's put me off on seeing it, but I'm now ready to see it.

I'm flipping

Of course I'm going to flip.  I love, love, love Simone Lahbib.  She makes me swoon!  *sighs*  I've seen her on Wire In The Blood as well, well clips of the show and she does a damn fine job on that show as well.  I saw a clip of Heartless as well, but I haven't been able to see the whole movie.  Is it available in the states or do I have to go on Amazon?  I saw Fallen too, it was a made for TV movie, kind of a action/Tom Clancy esque thriller with a surprise twist.  But if you want to see her in a movie that really displays her acting skills, watch a short film called the Long Haul.  Her acting was superb and she plays a very traumatic character, you really feel for her.

Agreed

Well, then, ya need to start downloading things from online that are only available in the U.K. and watch the other SL shows that are now available over here (Seasons 4 & 5 of "Wire in the Blood" and Season 6 of "Monarch of the Glen.") Her best acting work on film, other than "Bad Girls," is that scottish short called "Long Haul," not to be missed. She's brilliant in it. If it had been a longer format film she would've gotten a BAFTA nomination. It's that good a performance. She's really an excellent actress. I'd love to see her work with Helen Mirren, e.g., I think Simone is in that league and has rarely gotten the chance to show it. Also, the scottish comedy "Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star" is a must-see, as well as her season as the tough little tom boy cop on the final series of the brit police drama "Thief Takers."  "Fallen" (which has been shown in the U.S. on my PBS station at any rate) is interesting in that she plays it very close to the vest and doesn't give anything away. "Family" is another failed series, but she's extremely watchable as the cockney mafia daughter alcoholic who is on the verge of a nervous breakdown. You can find clips of most of these on You Tube if you can't locate a downloadable version.

Young Person's Guide & Heartless clips...

Ok, I watched a couple of episodes of Young Person's Guide to Becoming a Rock Star and I'm very confused.  She's way older than the kid in the band, or any of them for that matter, and she has the worst outfits in it (worse than Helen in the first season of Bad Girls).  Although she is very cute in her character, and when she plays seductive I melt.  I love the final episode when she's just out of the shower, drops her towel and tells the main character she wants him (which is of course a fantasy), but holy hell!  I watched that part a few times.

Here's a clip from Heartless where Simone is completely adorable:

Oh, and someone uploaded the entire movie in eleven segments on youtube, although it is at very low quality:

so...

yer sayin' the kid (ten yrs. her junior) can't display the good sense and the keen eye and the good taste to fall in love with an older woman...especially that older woman? Made perfect sense to me. <G>

No, no, no...

I was more thinking the other way around.  He's this asshole kid who doesn't have a job, lives at home, is in a really bad band, ruins her bra, and then is a bumbling fool the entire rest of the series.  I don't know, but I would have re-thunk her decision.  Although her making out with him is far better than the guy in Heartless – he was so ghastly, not cool.

lol

rotfl, ok, ok, I agree, the guys definitely got the best of that deal. Her characters made a lot of allowances for both of them, they were outrageously lucky bastards. But, hey, it was comedy. It just goes to underline the fact that of all the co-stars the girl has had (romantic or no, such as the charming Lloyd Owen or the quirky Tony Head, or the dishy, intense Robson Green)...Mandana Jones is far and away her best and they had the most incredible chemistry.
