Gigi Becali - Romania

Well I sort of presumed it was just hot air but he was presented in the article as a mainstream politician with his popularity obviously coming from somewhere that I wondered how seriously he should be taken. But if he's a stock figure...it's just an attention ploy I guess. It's hard to detect the political climate of another country from abroad so I just wanted clarification that it was just a burst of the crazies.

so here's the thing.gigi becali is a very popular politician here in romania, but his popularity came fom football-he owns the best team.and he decided to get involved in politics one year ago or something.before becoming rich, he was a shepherd and he always talks about god and stuff like that and claims he's very religious, although some of his actions are totally un-religious-let's say.starting as a poor country-side boy and becoming one of the most popular people in romania along with managing f.c. steaua brought him fame, and of course some admirers-lots, actually, but there are still lots of people that laugh at him and consider him a clown.
i heard about this yesterday and even the guy on the radio was laughing.so there's another reason for his fame.the press loves him for his outrageous moments.he would like to be the next president, but most people here disagree and say we'd be ruined.i remember he said some while ago he doesn't want to hear queen on his stadium or any other music. just religious.of course he didn't do anything further.that's gigi becali.always talk but never action.sorry for my bad english.i hope you understood what i meant.peace, love and understanding.
