Tribadism?Just wanting to know how many of you have heard of it. And if so what are your thoughts on. I didnt really know about it until I heard of the band scissor sisters and had someone explain what that meant. Which lead to finding out about tribadism. Which led me to this link: http://www.geocities.com/wcollege2002/tribadism.htm So im just curious to know what people think about it. Personally im still trying to wrap my head around it. Tribadism?
Calling it "basically hetero sex" is a little misleading though, isn't it? I mean, the methods that straight people use when having sex are probably as diverse as the methods we use. The term is a bit too general. And while tribadism does indeed incorporate many of the mechanics of some of the more common sexual positions in male/female sex, it doesn't include vaginal penetration or...well, a penis, which is pretty essential when it comes to "hetero sex".
I do understand what code3 meant with her comment, but I also understand why it might seem confusing to some. Dantes post was still incredibly lame, of course.
Tribadism?
 ...at first glance when i saw tribadism...I thought it was going to be a thread about like tribes..as in groups of folk who sing round the camp fire...(no not the brownies..altho if you think about it carefully that whole proclaming your services to a tawny owl..hmmm :? )...but anyhows lol

Tribadism?
FWIW, the dictionary describes tribadism as "a homosexual practice among women which attempts to simulate heterosexual intercourse."
I liked Code's definition because it made sense, but seeing it in the dictionary makes me less inclined to like it. Call me crazy, it just feels like the definition "they" think it [i:5bd84e237c]should[/i:5bd84e237c] have rather than what it actually is (in other words, all kinds of sex must be compared to "normal" straight sex because man-woman is the natural basis for these things, blah blah). I don't like that. :(
Perhaps we can say it's missionary humping instead? 8)
Tribadism?
Hhhmmm, I don't think my definition lends creedance to the notion that hetero sex is the "normal" way to have sex.
Tribadism?
bonobo monkeys make lesbian love....i think the actual use of the word tribadism has changed many times throughout its history. the dictionary translates the word from greek to latin to french to english. its means "to rub". i really think theres a good reason for research before getting into desputes over these things. theres a good amount of interesting history on this word, whatever its meaning might be.
Tribadism?
Now why would we want to do research when we can just go off half-cocked?

I was referring to the dictionary definition (i.e. lesbians are trying to simulate the default position/hetero intercourse), not to yours. Apologies for the confusion. 8)
Tribadism?
The first time I heard about ti was when someone told me what scissor sisters meant, but I still don't get how it can be done standing up...
Tribadism?
When I first heard the name I thought it was something like shamanism.
I kinda wanna try it...but in my experience humping doesn't get me off (was that tmi?)...anyone here tried it?
Tribadism?
8O Wow.... lol Wow! But it sounds really difficult...probably requires a lot of practice....
Tribadism?

IMHO :O)
