yea.. they nice. I got one on my arm... it's a ban with and A for my name. wanna get a matching one with my twin sis too, like a crab for cancer or sunthing, gotta talk her into it tho.
first one is of footprints which is on my left ankle. second one is a kanji symbol with a purple design which means health, got it when i was accepted into clinicals. the third one is a caduceus. got it done on my one year anniversary as a rn.
I personally love tattoos, and yes I do find them addicting. I got my first tattoo on my 18th birthday, and now have 7. Each one has meaning to me. My first is a small shamrock on my right ankle, the second is the Kanji for friendship (my best friend and I each have it on our right shoulders), third is the Egyptian hierglyphics for Ma'at on my left foot, fourth is the wing symbol for the TV show Angel on my back, fifth is a buttefly on my right inner wrist, sixth is my dog's paw print and name with a quote in Spanish from Pablo Neruda (Es tan corto el amor y tan largo el olvido) and last my sister and I got matching Celtic tree's of life on our left ankles.
I have a tribal sun with tribal one each side that wraps to my hips. I have a tribal butterfly on my right ankel. 3 Chinese symbols going down my spine, Dream, Love, and Passion.
This is before I had tribal added to each side of the sun.
I also have a Chinese symbol for Strength inside my right wrist. The Strength symbol means more to me than any of the others. I got this tattoo 2 months and 5 days after having a sugery that saved my life and the pink outline is in memory of my gf (who had also been my bff for 7 years) that I had lost a few years prior to a brain aneurysm.
Tattoos are soooooooo addictive, I honestly don't think you can get one and just stop. My friends say that I'm weird because I like the pain that comes from a tattoo and I have actually fallen asleep while being worked on.
I know that for my next tattoo I want pride stars on top of my left foot and I also want to add to the tribal on my lower back.
Friends don't let friends vote Republican.
I believe what I believe, you believe what you want! Lo
Here's my new tattoo! Got it for my birthday from my womyn... it is a design of ours to symbolise our union
"You and I wear the dangerous looseness of doom and find it becoming. Life, for eternal us, is now and now is much to busy being a little more than everything to seem anything, catastrophic included.."
And about 7 more that I don't have picture of on this computer. The Austin one is the most recent, and I got it when I was there visiting. They truly are addictive.
One of my friend's bandmember's wife has a tattoo shop and i'm officially able to get free tattoos! wooty woot...but the first one i want to get is kinda big and i'm pretty sure i want my first to be small
but as soon as i get it drawn out to perfection ima get it done
basically the idea is to make it look like there's two guns in the back of my pants, so the tattoo will go all they way down almost to my ass, that way if someone wants to see the whole tattoo they must be blinded by my white ass

"Valentine's Day's coming? Aw crap! I forgot to get a girlfriend again!"- Fry
I have two tattoos. The first is chinese symbols on my lower back that say "performing arts". I got it when I was 17. Or was I 18? Haha, I forget, but it was in high school. lol.
The second is on my right wrist, and it says "Appassionata", which means "passionate" in Italian. I got the idea because I wanted something to do with music, but I didn't want a music note or symbol. So I looked up sheet music terms, and in sheet music, "Appassionato" indicates to play with passion. I really loved it, so I got the female form, and I feel as though it connects me to music, which I love, but it also is a testament to me playing life with passion. Cheesy, but true to who I am. :) I got it this past August.
I've designed big tattoos for a number of friends but have only got one myself, a small cherry blossum tree just on the inside of my right ankle. It's very small and cute. I was once very tempted to get a tattoo on my wrist but eventually decided against it due to where I worked.
I`m getting tatt number 4 tomorrow. I`m getting a nautical compass with my grandmothers initials in the center. (she was always my direction.) I cant wait. I`ll post pic`s as soon as I haven them!
And about 7 more that I don't have picture of on this computer. The Austin one is the most recent, and I got it when I was there visiting. They truly are addictive.
I got two tattoos. I got my first tattoo when I was 16: two butterflies on my belly. They represent the fact that I always have butterflies in my stomach for someone. I actually got them done while I was dating my very first 'true love' girlfriend. A couple years later I got them redone for my current girlfriend of 3 years.
The second tattoo is the same tribal that Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer has, and I got it on my left wrist. I had been wanting it since I was about 14/15 years old. I got it when I was 18. Some people said I would regret it, but to me it means a lot and I didn't just get it cause I love Faith! I'm 22 now and still happy to have it.
well i got a little black star on my right hip n im yet to get a frog on my foot ( a dendrobates azureus..theyre so beautiful) and two butterflies on my left bladebone...
tattoos r such a great way to express urself, so i would probably never stop gettin any if it was just for me, but im kinda scared that i wont find a job if im covered in them...not sure yet tho.
i've got 2 wrap arounds (1 on each ankle), 1 on the back of my neck, 1 on my lower back, 1 on each shoulder blade, and 1 on each forearm just below the elbow. i should take some pics and post them.
Im 18 and just got my first tattoo. My mom and I got matching ones. She told me she wanted a peace sign, but she wanted me to draw one that was special to us so i ended up tracing the necklace she gave me when i was born.
I have 2 Tattoos, a red and black chinese dragon on my right hip (you see it's head in my picture) which I had when I was 17.
The second is a tribal-looking one down the left side from the middle of my ribcage over my hip bone to my upper thigh.. it's huge. It was the "first bad thing" I did after I turned 18. My parents hate it. I looooove it.
I'll have at least two or three more tattoos, but all of them will also be on places I can cover up at work and other occasions I'll have to.
Hi, I recently got an industrial piercing in my right ear and I was wondering what piercings everyone has and what people think I should get, that or a tattoo, I might get a tiny one.
Also what do you guys think tattoos and piercings mean to the lgbt community? Any good reresentative tattoos?
My first was a broken trident which is on the Barbados flag... One of my best friends designed it and also has one.
Second is a Brethren of the Coast jolly roger, which I got for my graduation, it's kind of a reminder of my craft the crew I've always wanted to be a part of and why I studied what I did.
I'm hopefully gonna be getting the first of many tatts in a couple of weeks! My Mum finally confirmed that she won't throw me out of home if I get one done so I'm gonna get one on my 18th birthday.
It's kinda funny that I want one though seeing as I'm the biggest wuss. Anyone wanna give me an idea of how bad they hurt?
I have three right now, but I'm getting my fourth in a couple of weeks... I have a Roger Rabbit in my right ankle, a Triquetra in my left ankle and a tribal in my right wrist. The other one I want to get is an ambigram of Carpe Diem, I want it on my inside right ankle. here they are:
i have three little stars on my left inner ankle. i've always sort of known that i wanted one, so this particular tat didnt really have to have any particular meaning to me. i was going to get another at the back of my neck with my friend but thought that was a little stupid since my parents don't really know about my tattoo and i'm trying to hide it for as long as possible!
Below is me first tat which i found bloody painfull... but er in a nice way and i'm soooooo tempted to get more, but unfortunately dmn it I have got to be pretty careful for my job. If I did get any more I reckon It would have to be a leg tat- maybe some sort of flower or vine circling the lower leg.
tat
Oh and I love many of the tats that have been posted on here, espech the kanji down the spine from beautifully broken and the butterfly from steffie (simple but looks amazing)
My first one is a ying & yang on my back (shoulder blade), the next one I got was a phoenix which was located on my calf. My next one I wanted to be more visible so I got it on my wrist, I got a "bracelet" of the symbol for Karma on the outside of my wrist, and tribal wrapping around to a red rose on the inside of my wrist. My latest tattoo is of a dragon holding the world in its claw. It is located on my other calf it, and it is my largest tattoo, it took just at 3 hours to complete.
I think its very true that tattoo are vary addictive, because once that first drop of ink hit my skin I cant stop thinking of new ones that I have to have ;)
I would have put up pics, but haven't figured that out yet :{ lol
Two so far: a tiny cartoony sheep on my left shoulder (my name in hebrew means 'ewe') and an abstract cat/crescent moon shape curled around my right ankle bone. This is a reminder of the past and those I've lost. The next one is a fox, planned in the same style as the cat, on the opposite ankle. They'd make a nice pair no? :)
just be careful if you're getting stuff in a language you don't understand. The number of laughable and totally wrong (back to front, upside down, just plain stupidly wrong translation) of chinese characters I've seen as tatoos is sad, sad, sad....
In terms of pain, I have to mention the tribal design on my belly, just below the waist onthe right side! hurt like hell. Have the design for my next 2 tattoos.. one, I will be doing pretty soon. I want it on the inside of my left forearm.. but I don't know if that is going to be acceptable in terms of office, etc.. But it is soooooo beautiful, and my gurl has enhanced / changed it to perfection, I just don't see it anywhere else... the third one is a geometrical design in a circle surrounded by sentence in Elfish. Looks stunning, is small and very fine.. am still thinking of a location for that one... It is a round tattoo, and I like designs that flow with your body's natural curves, so this one is giving me food for thought.. LOL.
"You and I wear the dangerous looseness of doom and find it becoming. Life, for eternal us, is now and now is much to busy being a little more than everything to seem anything, catastrophic included.."
i'm only 18 and i got this one on my birthday :):)
its an ohm symbol [or aum] to some its the first sound of the universe and stands for creation, preservation and destruction [cycle of life] but since i'm kind of a yoga fanatic [:):)] to me it means more of, inner peace and tranquility.. i've had to deal with a lot so this was very symbolic of yoga helping me with that. and its on the back of my neck....
i have plans for... waay too may more. my japanese sensei is going 2 translate a quote [to be chosen..] and i'm getting fire and water in japanese below my ohm and just inside my shoulder blades. its a very sneaky way of tattooing my zodiac on my body. hehe. i'm a gemini, [if you know nothing about us... we've got pretty much 2 different personalities...] so this symbolizes the two sides of me. plus i've always loved japanese and these symbols. my next one though is going to be tabul rasa underneath my ohm. :)
"Sometimes when i get homesick i hum the mr softee song"
I have 'Crouching tiger hidden dragon' in traditionl cantonese on the inside of my left wrist...Kinda geeky...I loved the film, but the book series was also amazing...I kinda like the metaphor too of looking like such a strong and powerful being, yet having so much hidden potential.
I have 'Dragon' written in elvish (Quenya style) on the inside of my right wrist...I was toying with the idea of a tribal dragon, but couldn't find one I liked. The elvish fits in better with my love of dragons and folklore and such.
Finally, I have 4 black squares in between my shoulder blades, largest at the top, smallest at the bottom...It signifies so much in life - for instance, problems always seem so big but then they lessen over time. Then again, looking at it the other way up, things can start off small and develop into something bigger....
i have one tattoo. its on my right forearm, and its the name of this girl i dated for 2 years. BIG MISTAKE!! i should of listened to my friends. but its a lesson learned. I am a little confused on whether i should get it covered or not, but I definetely want more.
i got my first tattoo 4 months ago when i wet travelling around new zealand again, taking a break from study in wellington. i found myself stuck in this tiny but amazing town with $10 in my pocket, not sure where i was coming or going or what the hell i was doing in general. i stumbled across an amazing man who has been doing Ta Moko since he was 14.
Ta Moko is maori depictions of the symbols of nature that tell a story. I told him about my life, my blood line, my philosophy and he drew up a design, i just trusted this guy the instant i met him. so i jumped on his table and he free handed the design on my left leg for about 2 hours, i had the option of getting it carved like ta moko is traditionally done but i don't think my pain threshold could handle that one!
I'm so proud of what came out of it, it helps especially wiht travelling when i need a bit of grounding, remember my roots and not feel like such a lone-soul in the universe!
and theres the photo, it goes up a bit further, but there was only me and the camera at an awkward angle
