Reprinting of AfterEllen articles (without permission?)While doing my normal Googling things, sometimes I find AfterEllen articles posted on other sites, blogs, etc. Usually they credit the original author and use the original photos, but they do not link to AfterEllen.com. Is this authorized, or should we do something to stop it? Submitted by Koma, Moderator (10197 posts) on June 11, 2005 - 12:02pm. |

Reprinting of AfterEllen articles (without permission?)
Hi Koma - ideally, other sites/forums would only post an excerpt of the article, and then provide a link to read it on AfterEllen.com (that's what I generally do when I post other people's articles on message boards). Sometimes that's not pratical, and it's hard to enforce, so if they're going to post the whole article, basic courtesy says they should at least provide a link to the article on AfterEllen.com, as well.
Common courtesy appears to be in short supply these days, though.
I don't really have the time to chase folks down, so mostly I just let it go, even though it's frustrating and disappointing. If you see someone doing that, and want to say something to them, then feel free to tell them they should at least provide a link.
