News, Reviews & Commentary on Lesbian and Bisexual women in Entertainment and the Media

I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry.

This movie had funny parts, but it also had parts that I found offensive to the LGBT community. And overall it didn't do a very good job to let people see WHY our community should be accepted.

Beside me a group of boys kept saying 'ew' and 'faggots' throughout the entire movie... and I'm sure they weren't the only ones.

So, thoughts on the movie?
Offensive?

Won't be seeing it

I haven't heard good things about it...And I'm already not an Adam Sandler fan so...I highly doubt I will be seeing this.  I heard a review yesterday morning on the radio and it said something like, "The movie is trying to break down stereotypes about homosexuality, but the entire first hour of the movie is full of them."

Chuck & Larry

I am a huge Adam Sandler fan.  I am really torn on how I feel about the movie.  There were funny parts of it, but there were also some parts that made me cringe. I would like to think that the goal of the movie was to incourage tolerance, but I am not sure that it was successful...

Jessica Biel

Go watch it. If, for no other reason, it has Jessica Biel. And in one scene she strips to her undies. She has the best backside-big and round-that I've eve seen.

Chuck & Larry

I saw this movie opening weekend. I wasn't really offended by it. It is true that the movie is full of stereotypes. However, you can't work to break down the stereotype without presenting it. Halfway through the movie I was thinking that there was no way they could have a decent ending, but I was pleasantly surprised.

And yes, Jessica Biel was hot.

i think you're missing the purpose....

I actually liked the movie... the gay stereotypes are hilarious! ^_^ Especially with the big butch fireman singing "I'm Every Woman." I was singing right along with him. ^_^

But we ought to remember that this movie is a comedy, not a lets-change-the-world sort of film. I think we should be grateful that this mainstream movie even had gay people in it. Every little bit helps, I might add.

Homosexual stereotype humor is so junior high

That is one of the main reasons this movie fails. Also, every scene where Adam and Jessica's characters were together felt like they were written by a twelve year old.

Also, this movie doesn't do shit for the LBGT community.
