You have good taste. :) Lena has been a favourite of mine since I saw her play a character in a lesbian relationship on the show "Band of gold" which I think was made by "Yorkshire television" and shown on ITV in Britain in the mid 90's.
I think Lena, Anna Friel, and Laura Frazer(all of whom have played lesbians, and who are all stunningly gorgeous) are the three best but most under-rated actresses to come out of Britain in the 90's.

That's what I'm sayin'. Though IMDB lists previous boyfriends for Lena, in their interviews (especially piper's though) they don't do something most straight girls make SURE to do when discussing their gay roles: Bring up something to let you know they don't swing that way. Some go with the "my boyfriend" line, but most pick a family member or friend who's gay to distinguish them. Or they pull the Jennifer Beals manuver by mentioning the research they did. "I asked [soandso who you all know is gay] if I was doing this right." They are always supportive of the LGBT or they wouldn't have taken the role, but they are sure to either not take another gaymo role (Hilary Swank) or keep their boyfriends very prominently displayed when we start to rumor (Mariska, I'm talking about you honey.) :)
But 4 times. 4TIMES. And Piper's a solid 2. And that character she played in "The Cave" was a little on the tough and butch side.
I guess it's better to not know. I'd be heartbroken. But I'm definitely analytical. I definitely add up the tiniest reasons and build a case for the gay.

She's also slighter in figure (she says she's 5'5.5" but often looks closer to 5'4"), making her more delicate. Plus she's got a great personality.
Apparently, Lena's been cast as the lead character in "Ultra," a new CBS pilot about a superhero femme with a not-so-super love life. It's based on the comic book series by the Luna brothers, and will be produced by Barbara Hall (who developed "Judging Amy" and created "Joan of Arcadia" - both of which were successfuly CBS shows). Hopefully, this show will go through and they will keep Lena as lead.
With her role in ULTRA and in the upcoming adaptation of Frank Miller's 300, Lena is really getting some attention in Hollywood.
I just hope that she won't change into the type of actor who thinks that, "ok, since I am getting famous now, I don't need to take any more controversial roles."
I hope that she will manage to remain independent and experimental in the movie business.
But then again, a little girl like me can be too cynical

Nah, I don't have any fears about that. Lena's been in the business long enough to stay grounded, and she's always had such a fantastic sense of humility (and humor) about all her roles, good and bad. The plus-side to finding success in your late twenties is the level of maturity and experience already attained through those many years spent warming the bench. If success is indeed coming Lena's way, then I am all for it; this gorgeous gal deserves all the success the world has to offer.
