America was very low in voting -- Thank God or we might see the Statue of Liberty as a wonder. Of the winners, I did vote for the Great Wall, Petra, Machu Picchu, the Colosseum, and the Taj Mahal. Christ the Redeemer though? It's a statue, not a monumental engineering accomplishment (by modern day standards, it's not that old). Where's the Acropolis? Where's Ankor?
Petra, while it definitely should be there, only won because the Jordan government's call for Jordanian votes. At the least, it will draw attention to a site which deserves world-wide praise.
Did anyone else here vote? What did you vote for and why? What's missing from the list of finalists?
