Just about a month to go until this year's Boardmasters kicks off!

and this year promises to be a good one. With the men's Pro Comp rated at 5 stars this year it looks as if Darren O'Rafferty will be back to defend his title. The women's heat promises to be no less impressive.

The in-betweenie surf lulls, as last year look to be the perfect excuse to mosey about the festival's many stands and stalls, spend hard earned money that really didn't need spending on adorable thingie-m'bobs, and let's not forget that there wil be plenty of interesting snacks, smoothies and the like to be sampled - a challenge that I am more than willing to take up. More flitting about in the (fingers, toes and...well anything else you can spare, crossed) sunshine and the maniacal klepto-ness of promotional freebies, take a few snaps and envy the "penis-lenses" of the more dedicated (or solvent) amateur photographers, mooch around the DJ's area and pop into the Fosters barbie for a cool beer and a burger.

If the mood takes you, then take to your feet. There are some blissfully serene walks and cycle rides to be had along the coast. Fantastic.

 Watch the sun set over Fistral Beach....head off in search of food, and (if you still have the energy) revelry. Or if you prefer: a quiet drink late into the evening, away from the inevitable intoxicated young bunnie girls and drunken machismo.

Admire the sunrise and repeat the above as necessary until peaceful, calmed, unshakably cheerful and spiritually healed.

And of course...SURF!
